This is a sweet, clean, and tender story about the love and respect that develops between Noel Painter, a twenty year old girl in Virginia City, Nevada, and Michael Cowan, a newly ordained minister, son of a wealthy and prominent South Carolina plantation owner.
When the pastor of a small church passed away, he left three daughters, Noel, Holly and Joy, along with three young adopted daughters, Louise, Anna and Beth, who are between the ages of four and six.
When Michael arrives, he finds the orphaned family still occupies the parsonage where he is supposed to live. With nowhere else to go, Noel, the oldest, pleads for him to allow them to stay there long enough to find another place.
She has no idea how she will hold the family together, but will not consider returning the younger three girls to the orphanage or to foster homes. Two of the older sisters are engaged and Noel has a boyfriend. She hopes that each sister will take one of the children when they marry.
The story centers on Noel’s fight to hold the family together, and the developing love between Michael and her-self.
The sweetest, most tender as well as the cleanest love story you'll find.
