Armand is a reclusive writer who lives alone and harbors a secret. A secret he hides by writing love letters and wedding vows for clients who feel love, but cannot find the words.
The one who knows his secret is none other than the god of love, who approaches Armand under the guise of being his next client, Vincent Cupidro. Vincent’s intention is to nudge Armand onto the path to meet the love of his life, a woman he has never even met, but is everything he needs.
Armand’s mother, Deborah, worries about Armand’s loneliness and insists he attempt to reconcile with his ex-fiancé, Victoria, whom she had grown fond of during the years of their relationship. Armand refuses to acquiesce his mother’s request, because Victoria had betrayed him.
In an impulsive act of desperation, Deborah steals one of Armand’s love letters and attempts to mail it to Victoria, except she inverts the numbers of the street address and sends the letter to someone else.
Aysha is an intelligent, successful professional who stands by her convictions, but is not looking for love. When she receives Armand’s letter, however, she feels something stir in her soul. After deliberating with herself and with her friends the circumstances surrounding her reception of the letter, she decides to pen a reply to the unknown writer.
Soon, Aysha and Armand engage in a series of anonymous exchanges by way of letters without the intention of ever meeting. The correspondence fills a need neither knew they had, yet somehow creates a connection they didn’t know they wanted. They find that the arrangement is accommodating for them both without the pressure of expectations.
In an effort to expedite the purpose for his visit, Vincent decides to meet Aysha and nudge her onto the path where she and Armand will meet. When Vincent sees Aysha, however, he falls in love and tempts the hand of fate. He initiates his courtship of her without revealing his true identity and does everything he can to keep Aysha and Armand apart.
In an effort to set things right, the Fates warn Vincent that his actions could have dire consequences, and they intervene by allowing Aysha and Armand to meet through a chance encounter. Aysha and Armand feel an instant connection without realizing they’ve been pen pals, but Vincent dismisses the Fates’ warning, and chaos ensues.
