There’s gold in them thar hills—along with a school bully, a family feud and a very special ghost. Kyle, a young and enthusiastic treasure hunter, searches for the rumored gold which could be the answer to Grandpa’s financial problems. While Kyle and his younger sister, Kimmie, are out searching for the mother lode, they learn about the history of the small town of Morgan Gulch. Along the way they discover the secrets of the mountain, family secrets and feuds, and they learn more about their great-great grandpa for whose gold they are searching. Kyle’s adventures on the mountain bring him closer to his family and help him discover not only the gold, but more about himself.
BIOGRAPHY I am an author of children’s stories, children's series, middle-grade fiction, short stories, and novels. I have had a passion for writing since I was a young girl, often curling up in the old gold lounge chair, in the coolness of our basement, penning adventures stories like the ones I read in the Nancy Drew Mysteries series.
I am a three-time graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature, a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and a member of the Pikes Peak Writers Group of Colorado.
I am fortunate to have been blessed to have a few stories published or recognized. In August 2021, my first early reader book, The Adventures of Darby- Darby and the Dollberry Dare was released in 2021. Titles two and three, Darby Meets Tall Town (07/2022), and Darby's Polka Dots and Pretties (10/2022) have recently been released. We are currently working on my next project which is publishing Darby and the Dollberry Dare in Spanish - Darby y el Dollberry Se Atreven.
In May 2018, my first children's novel 'The Ghost of Morgan Gulch' was released. A lifetime dream had been accomplished. In response to a contest sponsored by The Sportsman's News, in which I won second prize, I authored a short story, 'The Hunter's Dream', which was published in The Sportsman's News (digital) in 2015. I received Honorable Mention for my romance genre story 'Love on the Wild Frontier', announced in The Writers' Journal in 2010.
I enjoy music, photography, jewelry making, and spending time with my family. While I am out enjoying another favorite hobby, traveling, I am always on the lookout for new ideas and new adventures for my next story.
I grew up in Littleton, Colorado, where I live with my husband. I have two children and four grandchildren.
