Having his elementary school education in the far hinterland of Oyo State in Nigeria, West Africa, 10-year old Tunji is like an oasis in a desert.It’s hard to conceive that such a talent could exist in such a rural setting with its attendant superstitions and beliefs.
And because of his exceptional brilliance, the State Government became interested in his educational well-being and was supported by the community’s traditional ruler and chiefs.
But Tunji’s uncle, a very tough, fearsome and powerful hunter in the community, called Ebora (Wizard) would not hear of it.
Because, according to him, the Oracle had foretold that Tunji is destined for “greater exploits in our community”. He then took Tunji by force to the forbidden forest for initiations and indoctrinations.
This triggered a 9.0-richter scale earthquake of mayhem that swept across, from Tunji’s local communities, to the Presidential Villa in the nation’s capital of Abuja and even spiraled to far away foreign city of Liverpool in England.
