2022 – a virus affects livestock around the world, resulting in fatal reactions to those that eat the affected animal products. Billions die.
Eight years after the pandemic decimated most of mankind, leaving no governments or structure in place. Small communities and lone families retreated from the cities and set up in the countryside, living with a huge change in life.
A severely injured woman stumbles onto a family farm in a post-pandemic world, and they take her in, tending to her injuries and keeping her locked up in the basement below the farm, not trusting her.
A week later, she wakes and tells her story. Her missing daughter, her past before the pandemic, and her encounter at a small town nearby.
The horror of what exists outside the farm drives the fear into the family as they plan their move.
