BIOGRAPHY James A. Ardaiz, a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, had a distinguished legal career spanning more than thirty years. He served as the Chief Deputy District Attorney for the Fresno County District Attorney’s office, where he led homicide prosecutions. He later became a Municipal Court Judge and a Superior Court Judge, eventually being appointed to the Court of Appeal for Central California and becoming the Administrative Presiding Justice.
After retiring from the judiciary in 2010, he pursued his longtime dream of becoming an author. He set out to write books that would leave readers thinking about the stories he told and the dilemmas his characters faced. He wanted readers to close the last pages of his books and then say, “Is that what I would have done?” He is now the author of five books on crime and historical fiction.
His first book, the #1 Bestseller, "Hands Through Stone", is a non-fiction account of an actual major criminal investigation resulting in the last execution in the state of California. “A terrifying look at the mind of evil and the lengths it can go…a fine addition to any true crime collection focusing on California.”
