She is also a licensed clinical and holistic psychologist with over 25 years of experience in positive and health psychology.

Dr. Murray-Carney received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, summa cum laude, from Howard University, and she obtained her Master's Degree and Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park.

She was raised in Trinidad and Tobago and has been married for 30 years, and is a bonus mother of two adult children.
