The girl who waited for karma is set in the fictional seaside town of Addington, England in the 1990’s. It has an underlying theme of alchemy and the big metaphysical idea of inherited karma.
Bronwyn Muller is a bright, introverted teenager who is bullied at school. The unconventional protagonist has unanswered questions about her family history and believes karma is punishing her She challenges karma by dabbling in herbal alchemy to mete out revenge on her nemesis whom she faces every day at school.
Bronwyn’s alchemical dabbling sparks big changes in her world, including the arrival of charismatic Adam who instantly falls in love with Bronwyn, to the dismay of her nemesis.
Adam and Bronwyn become sweethearts before meeting the enigmatic Ezra Frank, a middle-aged recluse who lives in the woods up the road from Bronwyn’s house. They learn about his suffering as a teenager during the Holocaust. Is karma bringing their troubled lives together to teach them soul lessons?
* This is a mixed genre story (historical-romance-supernatural fiction) in a similar vein to and a mix of “Twelve Minutes to Midnight”, “Scorpio Moon” and “Night”.
