      • Don't be so married to your words that you aren't willing to change them. Good writing is rewriting and editing, editing, editing. Then edit some more. Your first, second or tenth draft can always be better if you are willing to be objective. And if you ask for critique, take it as that, and not a personal attack. A person offering a good critique will offer suggestions for you to take or leave, without trying to beat you in submission to their point of view. Consider what they say and weigh it against what you know about your story. A good 'critiquer' or twelve can be invaluable.
