      • Hi Charles, I am working on my second - completely different to my first.. Working on my fathers migration journey in the 1950s and the challenges he faced to create a life for himself. What about yourself?

        • Hey there, that sounds like a powerful story, mate, real heart and history in that. As for me, I’m deep in my next bit of work, a new science fiction project that’s stretchin’ my imagination in all directions. World‑buildin’, characters, interstellar politics, the whole nine yards.

How’s the process treatin’ ya so far? Does diggin’ into your father’s journey bring up surprises you didn’t expect?

          • Your project sounds like a brilliant imaginative journey!
Yes it has been an interesting process so far - interviewing my father, now in his 90s and really taking in each memory.. I hope that I can capture and tell his story with the depth and shade that it deserves. He is an interesting man..

            • It’s such a gift to be able to capture those memories while you can. I’m sure your father’s story will resonate with readers in a profound way.

I also wanted to mention that I’ve sent my email to you so we can connect further; I’d love to continue this conversation and hear more about your progress as the project develops.

      • Hi Lisa, thanks for reaching out. I must say the marketing side is not my strong suit. What did you have in mind and what are the associated costs?
        Thanks in advance

      • Literary success to me is to have someone read my book and state that they were engaged and related to so many of the characters.

      • I do read all my reviews. I understand that my style of writing may not appeal to everyone and that it perfectly fine. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to write a review and I try to understand any feedback given. This only helps me to improve.

      • Yes - many times. But I find taking a break during those times certainly helps. Move away from the laptop and engage in other activities - even housework.. Then when the words are free flowing in my mind, that's the best time to sit and get them all down.

      • A good cover is often the thing that catches your eye - followed by a great title - draws people to your book. My book was complete with a different title and a friend commented and said 'it wouldn't grab my attention'.. So I came up with the now title and texted him the following day. His response was 'yep - that's perfect'. The Cover of my book is simple but has an uncanny story. I engaged an illustrator online through an app - She had a sudo name as did I. She had never seen any pictures of me, nor was she able to look me up and yet the illustration of a woman thinking bears an uncanny resemblance to me.
