I think success looks like to me by being able to have credibility with my work and to have others know my writings and someday become a successful author.
When I was younger, I always wanted to be a writer. I submitted poems to contests and almost won once. I never did see it as a career. I hope to one day make it my full-time profession!!
Yes, I definitely have experienced writer's block. When I get into one of these slumps, I start jotting words down into a word list. Make lists of characters and notes.
My 5th-grade teacher, Mrs J, inspired me to write. She said I had a knack for telling stories and using lots of details in my work. I would always write more than I actually needed for a paper. I had to learn how to condense my details into concise paragraphs for specific pages. I have been writing poems since I was in middle school!!
