When I was a kid, my mom worked at a print shop and the manager hated kids, so when we would go there he would stick us in the back room where all the old typewriters were kept. I started writing poetry, and when I was 9, my uncle found a poetry contest for kids so my mom entered me and I won. I have won 3 editors choice awards for that poem since, in 1997, 2001, and 2021.
