False Start was a great 5 star read. We jump from present to past as we see into Maddie’s life ranging from 15 years old to 27 years old. This is a great story of finding love, loving life and surrounding yourself with a great family. In the beginning/present time Maddie decides she wants a tattoo and this is where she meets Dex. Something about his eyes pulled her right in and she had no idea what meeting him would do for her life. I can’t say anything else because I want you to read this all for yourself. There are several twist and turns and also be prepared for a very emotional rollercoaster of a ride. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. The ending leaves us with a heck of a cliff hanger that is killing me, I need Pivot Line now. This is my first read from Rebel Farris and I absolutely loved it. I was pulled right in and I couldn't stop until I was done, Rebel’s writing really connects you with the characters and you feel like your right there with them. She has done a great job with her debut book and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. It was really thrilling to go through the pages and get to know Maddie! She is a troubled person you can relate to and laugh and suffer together with her. The style and the now/then point of retelling are incredible and you are for the whole ride - there is no way you can leave the book aside! I loved all the turns and the twists and was sad and angry and happy together with Maddie in all the important moments in her life! A read I totally enjoyed! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
