Morals Clause: Book 1

Rate this book
Instead of paying him the $ multi-million incentives he has earned, they have decided that a more economical approach would be to bury him and his family. Morals Clause is a truer than fiction story about an entrepreneur, Sam Barns, that literally explodes off the pages after his California-based company becomes a major success and is acquired by a Fortune 500 Company whose management team consists of brown-collar thugs rather than white-collar executives. They will take any risk necessary to achieve their goals, whether it is threats, blackmail, kidnapping, or even murder. So how far will they go? With $ millions at stake, they will go all the way.

I would like to start by saying that I enjoyed this book, reading it in a 24 hour period. The characters were fairly well developed, albeit not all relatable; the plot was fast-paced and suspenseful. My concern is that the ebook I received through Amazon had many glaring proofing errors. The italics used for emphasis, did not stand out from the rest of the page. There was an instance of mixed metaphors, comparing first David and Goliath, then Butch Cassidy and the Mexican Army (I actually think he faced the Bolivian army). In discussing firearms, "caliper" was used in place of CALIBER. Finally, you substituted "f##ked" for "fucked" when , in the rest of the book, you were not so sensitive.

I do look forward to reading more of his books, but hope that the proofing/editing will improve.

An excellent read!

This book was gripping from page one. I couldn't wait to return to the story, it was fascinating. The characters were well developed and the description of the inner workings of the American litigation system was very well explained and interesting. I highly recommend this book. Happy reading!
