Pam Anderson is a poet (and letter writer) who has one foot firmly planted in Northeast Ohio and the other in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A daughter of a WWII paratrooper, she was the first person in her family to graduate from college (Hiram College and Kent State University). She also has her MFA from the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts program.

Much of her work focuses on the Holocaust and Czechoslovakia from 1938-1945.

What a beautifully written, compelling story! I loved it, even though I was left (at the end) feeling saddened. Claire Keegan is a remarkable writer.

The narration is wonderful.

I highly recommend it.

I recently read another book of short stories, and I liked it.

However...this book. This book. I loved it.

The writing is beautiful and spare, and so are the stories. I am left with a yearning for more...and the satisfaction of being left without that

This is a wonderful little book...3 stories that are well-told AND unsettling (particularly the last one). I love her writing and breezed through the book in just a few hours. The mark of a good book? I cannot stop thinking about that last story.

I did not love this book. That said, there were some surprises/twists and turns. It took forever to read because I just did not feel compelled to stick with it.
