Rate this book
A twisted tale of reincarnation, romance, intrigue, sex, war, and murder in 12th century England. On a hot 1133 summer's day Bethany, Elena and Alice go to a stone circle on the same day that Jared Ashbourne visits it in 2003. A time slip connects medieval England to the 21st century. As the timelines converge Bethany de Lise is psychically linked to her future self, Dayna Barnes, and Jared gets a direct feed to his own past life as Gerrat de Ashbore. Netherrealm is an epic story that is hard to describe without giving away the plot. The story is a slow burn, so if you're expecting fireworks and explosions from the opening paragraphs, you're set for disappointment. This is a mature novel with a core of mysticism, time portals and murder.

Kim Michelle Ross' debut novel is a confident work and one well worth reading. I spent many a flight reading this story, and I admit I'm looking forward to Kim Michelle's future works.

I loved this story. The intrigue, the characters and the period were beautifully crafted. I would love to have seen more of the future part of the story, but I guess that's coming in book two.
The story builds in layers, woven through the history of a period in English history known as The Anarchy. It is well-crafted and faithful to the period, right down to the language, so be prepared for some older English! It took a little concentration to get into the style, but once I was used to it, the story flew.
The stunning conclusion left me hoping the author is well on her way to concluding work on Part Two of the Netherrealm stories.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves historical drama, mysticism, romance and intrigue.

It'd be cheating to rate this novel because I am the author.
