A poetry book that takes you through the emotions of life and helps to use that pain to rebuild your wings once again. Broken down into three sections – love, pain and believe, the poems are written by the author to create an emotional connection to how every feeling is valid and how it is possible to overcome the difficult ones while enjoying the happy ones. The theme of the butterfly is used to represent the invisible wings we all possess but need to learn to spread them more often and fly freely.
This is a book that will carry you through the emotions that I have gone through personally or have felt through others. It took a long time for me to realize these emotions were not just special to me – I was not alone in any of them. We all feel them, we all share them. I felt at ease writing out my memories and emotions – it reminded me of all the love I had around me, it helped me let go of so much that I had been holding on for too long and I found it easier just to have hope and believe again.
I could not put this book down!! The book itself almost told my whole life story. Such anger and sadness and some self doubt. That is exactly what life is. I could never put these beautiful words on paper the way The author did. Amazing work of writing art. I like to call writing a work of art because not many people can pull off what many authors can. Beautiful just beautiful. I am kind of speechless right now but the book is worth your reading time.
I received a copy free from VRO and this is my voluntary honest review. Oh wow! Amazing! Inspirational! Moving! So thought provoking. A roller coaster ride! An emotional read! Reflective! Refreshing heart touching moments! Don't miss! Read!

Thank you Kasthuri Packiyanathan for sending me a copy of Butterfly Wings. It’s a collection of poems that is divided into three parts: Love, Pain and Believe. In the first section, the author beautifully describes what love is, what are the types of love, what are the changes that a person goes through, how perspectives and feelings change when we fall in love. Falling in love is easy, but staying in love is the hardest part. Love completes us, but sometimes it breaks us. Sometimes love stays, sometimes love leaves. Love is home. In the second section, the author talks about pain; pain can come in many forms, it can be physical, emotional or mental. The damage caused by pain can take longer than we think because healing is an extensive and intense process. Sometimes it takes forever to get something traumatic out of our heads. Pain is heartless. In the third section, the author points out the struggles one goes through after their trust has been shattered to a million pieces. Once the trust is broken, it’s hard to believe again but it’s human nature and after everything we go through, we believe and love yet again. Believing again is hard, but it heals us, gives us hope and a new beginning. This poetry is a beautiful read, it takes us along the journey of author’s raw emotions, memories, thoughts and experiences. The author makes us realise that we all have wings; sometimes we don’t see them, sometimes we forget they are there and sometimes we become so numb towards life, towards ourselves that we don’t know how to use them. It’s a short and easy read with some original and fervent poems. A very well written piece of work.
