poems?

Well I said earlier I have five poetry books, which although they are not all out yet has expanded somewhat into nine. They are not really the norm I have to say. That is as far as a poetry book goes anyway! they have a lot of opinion in them and a short story, the poetry is I hope quite varied, some to make you think, some smile and some to perhaps make you a little sad. Chris Dyer Okay hard to know where to start, writing about oneself is far less easy than writing as an author... and that’s, however enjoyable hard enough!
I initially wrote a short nonfiction book Plants Potions & Oils for Horses (having spent my life around horses) which in truth did fairly well but not well enough for me to come anywhere near a full time writer, and although it wasn’t a bad little book I was restricted by the publisher as it had to fit word wise with a series on horses they were doing. I then wrote another called Getting to Know Your Pony which was fun. I moved to Africa and stopped writing. I had always wanted to write a fiction series (fantasy) and it came about in the strangest way. A friend had plagued me to do another version of Plants Potions, bigger, better illustrations and more content and after a while I became quite enthusiastic about the idea and so started. As I was writing the new version I had an idea for a fantasy book and so also started writing The Beginning (book one The Sapphire Staff). Why the inspiration came at this time I can’t say, just that I thoroughly enjoyed writing it! Having been down the trying to get an agent and trying to get a publisher route (catch 22) I was offered a couple of traditional deals that were so one sided I realised the possibilities of my earning was a long way, far too long, into the future and of course the lions share went to the publisher. I decided to look into going the self publishing avenue. I contacted many companies some of whom plagued me near to death to go with them (and it nearly put me off the idea) but after months of sifting through the internet reviews decided on Lulu.com (I hope I have made the right decision). Anyway the books Plants Potions Oils & More for Horses (I do believe it is so much better than the original) and The Beginning should be out by Christmas 2015. I won’t bore you with too many details but I sent the horse book in manuscript form to Horse Magazine UK and they really liked it, I hope you will too. The Beginning I thought I would try a different approach and give the manuscript to individuals to look at (I will when then book is out send some copies out for review). They are probably being kind! So far everyone that has read it has thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact the half dozen that reviewed it have all been pressuring me for the follow up, (The Emerald Land) which I hope will be available by March/April 2016, sooner if I can get myself in gear and the first books earn me enougj so that I can devote more time to writing!
Both books will be available as print and ebook and should be on all the major ebook sites. The print books will be available through my own website which will be up and running when the books come out, I will let you all know the address as and when, by order through bookstores and through Lulu.com. I hope you will give them a try and even more enjoy them! If anyone has any questions or comments please see my blog I will be happy to try and answer.
Just realised I should have told you a little about the books!
The Beginning,
Book one The Sapphire Staff.
When the Creator of the Earth made a son he did so in faith and love, he did not see that the beauty he had created would become corrupt and arrogant. Arrogance turned to jealousy and jealousy turned to hate for all things beautiful, and so he tried to destroy his father’s work. Angry at his son but unable to cause him hurt the Father had him brought back and cast him into the bowels of the Earth as punishment. Five hundred years in the hope he would find redemption. Instead all that was dark within him festered and for all this time he plotted his revenge against his Father and creation. He would bring darkness and despair upon the land as his release creeps closer.
In a small town a boy of barely sixteen comes out of the Wildlands in the hope of finding an easier life. His mother disappeared mysterious two years before and against all adversity he has survived. Now he is starting to regret leaving the Wildlands as he stares through the window of a bakers shop, hungry and still alone. The hand that rests upon his shoulder does not hold him but merely rests there and yet he finds he is frozen to the spot. Who is the cowled figure that holds him, a man of stories, a man of great power. All he can see are the eyes of the man, a total stranger and yet there is a strange feeling of familiarity. He is offered kindness but in this world kindness is something rare and usually comes with a price. He is just a boy and little does he know the price will put the fate of the world solely into his hands. Creatures of legend and magic long hidden from the eyes of man must be brought back into the light to stand shoulder to shoulder with man and fight the evil that has come once again. Can a mere boy face up to such responsibility and bring about peace.
For every Beginning there must be an end and for every end a Beginning.
Plants Potions Oils & More for Horses.
If you are interested natural remedies, herbs and horses then this is the book for you, described by one reader as the “must have coffee table book for every horse lover” which I have to say I thought very nice. I have put below the preview by Horse Magazine UK.
Plants, Potions & Oils for Horses

Nature is a wonderful thing. As this book reveals, it has much to offer that can benefit our horses' health and wellbeing.
While a vet should always be your first port of call if your horse is ill or injured – or you have any concerns about his health and wellbeing – it is fascinating to discover the powers of individual plants and learn how they have played a part in the care and management of equines for many years.
The beauty of this book is the friendly, easy to understand text, where the author engages you in a lively conversation to share the knowledge he's built up over a lifetime with horses.
And once you have absorbed the descriptions and learned the uses of plants and herbs, you're sure to be inspired to search the hedgerows for the goodies that grow there.
It is eye-opening, too, to learn of the hidden talents of everyday items you will find in your kitchen, such as cold tea, bananas and salt and pepper.
As an added bonus, the 'tried and tested' section on aromatherapy will enable you to address particular issues with your horse, while building a closer bond with him.
