An award-winning journalist and a critically acclaimed bestselling author, Kathryn Casey has written eleven true crime books and is the creator of the Sarah Armstrong and Clara Jefferies mystery series. ANGEL FALLS, her first historical fiction, was inspired by the life of Ruth Robertson, who in 1949 measured the world’s tallest waterfall.

Casey’s books have been Literary and Mystery Guild selections, and DEADLY LITTLE SECRETS was made into a Lifetime movie. Her first novel, SINGULARITY, was named a Best Crime Novel Debut by Booklist, and Library Journal chose THE KILLING STORM for its annual list of Best Mysteries. Elle Magazine picked DIE, MY LOVE as one of the ten best thrillers and crime books written by a woman. True crime matriarch An

Ana is convicted of murdering Stefan Andersson, a brilliant scientist, a medical researcher, by pummeling him with her high heel. I've uncovered evidence that much more was going on in this case than was ever revealed in the intense media coverage.

The second book I'm working on made national, front-page headlines, the Kaufman County, Texas, murders of a district attorney, his wife, and the top prosecutor. It's a strange case of revenge with tragic results. Eric Williams, a justice of the peace, and his wife, Kim, have been convicted in the killings. (less)

I spent time in a town like this years ago when I was a magazine writer. At the time, I was covering an adoption case in a polygamous sect. I spent a week there interviewing the men and women, talking to the children, those in charge. It was an experience that stayed with me. I've used much of what I learned in the new mystery series. My main character, Clara Jefferies, is an apostate who fled the cult. In book one, she's called by a friend from Alber, my fictional town, and told that her sister is missing. Despite her misgivings, Clara returns to Alber to find her sister. (less)

Angel Falls is here!

Yup. It's true. After decades of contemplating writing this book, ANGEL FALLS is here. I admit: I'm excited!

I get asked all the time: "How do you come up with your ideas?"

In this case, the answer is easy: ANGEL FALLS, was inspired by the life of Texan Ruth Robertson, a photojournalist who, in 1949, mounted the expedition that successfully measured Angel Falls, the world's talle
