I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher for thirty-one years and to keep insanity at bay, I took up writing. Not to worry. The insanity isn’t catching – much. Other than the addiction to chocolate and the twitch in my left eye, I’m good. My current project is Jinxing the Warlord, another Coletti Warlord story.

Stilettos and Sniper Rifles

I’ve been a Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy for four years. Most folks don’t have a clue about what a cop deals with every day. Like a pack of attack chihuahuas, a monkey with a bad case of diarrhea, a hungry python, a brahma bull named Bodacious and a six-foot iguana.

And that is just the critters. Now let me tell you about the two-legged varmints. Such as a three-hundred-pound biker who got a b Read more of this blog post »

Sophia Yay! Thanks for accepting my friend request, Gail!

Gail Koger I had to juice up my sex scene for Loose Id. Romance Junkies refused to post my excerpt, they said it was too racy. I'm like - really? My sex scene are part of the story not the entire story.

I love the relationship between Tony and Ziva on NCIC.

I'm such a sucker- I loved Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind. He was an alpha male before the word even existed.

I agree- if I'm reading a bit of erotica I know what I'm getting on that front. But some of the stuff I've read recently that is supposed to be romance doesn't have a lot of substance to it other than the sex. I don't mind getting out the fan to cool me off, but give me some story to sink my teeth into as well. :)

message 89: by Gail

Gail Koger North by Northwest, the old Tarzan movies. There was a lot of verbal seduction. I hate books where she hates him and about five minutes later she banging him. AND then it's let's do it here and oh yeah, in the bathroom, on the kitchen table. There's no story, just sex. I like a story with my sex.

message 88: by Ivy

Ivy Sinclair Yay, Gail! Thanks for accepting my friend request. :) I figured if we start talking old movies, we might want to talk off thread. LOL.

Seriously- there are so many examples of classic romance movies that made my heart melt without the overt smexiness of today's stuff. (Not complaining- just sayin'). It's a different era with different expectations.

message 87: by Gail

Gail Koger I did!! Another happy dance. Thanks bunches!!

message 86: by Sandra

Sandra FictFact is a free website for keeping track of series, so you can't add standalone books. Many of my GR friends and members of my groups belong to it.

When Vexing Voss is released I'll get it added, no probs.

I've done my review for IHV, hope you like it :)

message 85: by Gail

Gail Koger Thank you! I hadn't heard of it. There are so many websites out there. I'm getting some really terrific reviews on I Hear Voices. See me do happy dance!!

message 84: by Sandra

Sandra Gail, just so you know, I got Coletti Warlords added to FictFact :)

http://www.fictfact.com/series.aspx?s...

message 83: by Gail

Gail Koger July 6th and yes I need readers for early reviews. So let me have your email address. I might have to use my final proof copy - which has no cover art and some minor corrections.

Gail

message 82: by Rosebud (last edited Apr 20, 2012 10:50AM)

Rosebud A little birdie told me your final edit went in for "I Hear Voices". Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any definite release date? Only post if it's a definite because I've had this on my "to buy" for April.
If you need any volunteers for early read look me up.

message 81: by Gail

Gail Koger Thank you! It took me a year of trying to get an interview.

message 80: by Sandra

Sandra Gail, loved your piece in the All Romance ebooks newsletter :D

message 79: by Mari

Mari Thanks for the add, Gail. Have a great day.

message 78: by Gail

Gail Koger Detja's a hoot. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's a bit different from Just My Luck. My chat last night was a bust. Guess the chat host said I never showed. But when I logged in it was 7pm my time. I have to figure out what when wrong.

Gail

message 77: by Sandra

Sandra Gail, just finished reading WC. Very very good. Will have to read it again to get all the nuances.

message 76: by Gail

Gail Koger Thanks! I like it, too!

message 75: by Sandra

Sandra It's sexy!!!

I like it!!!

message 74: by Sandra

Sandra Ah, a come out chat. I'll have to keep on at my computer to upload the Java update then. For some reason it doesn't want to do it. I'm obviously doing something wrong.

Hope Bunny is still coming along.

I'll just go and look at the trailer now and post back.

message 73: by Gail

Gail Koger The Chat isn't until July 9th so plenty of time. My page with Warlord looks so bare after Just My Luck.

message 72: by Sandra

Sandra You did a great job putting the new book in the db. I usually go in and fix all the WP books and add the covers etc.

I didn't get to the chat on the 9th, Java is still playing up on my computer. Hope it went well :)

19 days to go and counting.....

message 71: by Gail

Gail Koger Bunny is coming along very very well. Having lots of fun with her.

message 70: by Sandra

Sandra Loved Bunny. Write faster Gail.

message 69: by Gail

Gail Koger Thanks! I'm getting some really nice reviews on my Goodreads page lately, too. Just about done with Warlord. The last two pages and then checking for typo's and stuff. Cindy my old editor is proof reading it for me.

message 68: by Sandra

Sandra Just thought I'd let you know, I just read JML again (don't know how many times that is) and the rollercoaster still works. Keep up the good work!

message 67: by Gail

Gail Koger Gotcha! Working!

message 66: by Sandra

Sandra That's just horrible. Sorry to hear that.

Stay inside and write, snow or not, it will be much safer.

message 65: by Gail

Gail Koger Ouch! Ouch!

Flagstaff area and around the Grand Canyon got hammered. Big car wreck because of the blowing snow. By Tucson 20 car pile up with several people dead because of the blowing dust. But Phoenix area - zip snow.

message 64: by Sandra

Sandra Lash! Lash! Christmas is over. Write faster. Lash!

Isn't it perfect writing weather over there now (not that I expect you've got blizzards, like the rest of USA) ?

message 63: by Gail

Gail Koger Saw Sherlock - a good popcorn movie. I'm glad Christmas is over too. Gotta get to work! That deadline is looming!

message 62: by Sandra

Sandra I agree, Sherlock Holmes does look good. Always like a good Sherlock. We'll have to see, hubby is on hols for 3 weeks so I'm sure we'll see one if not both. Christmas was pretty good, all the rels behaved, plenty of food, the grannies were well and the nieces & nephews thrilled with their goodies. But glad its over.

message 61: by Gail

Gail Koger Ha! Avatar is a wow for special effects. I want to see
Sherlock Homes next.

Have a great Christmas!

Gail

message 60: by Sandra

Sandra I was thinking about seeing Avatar - the trailer looks good. And I deliberately didn't hassle you about Warlord - I thought I'd give you one day off. Have a happy Christmas.

message 59: by Gail

Gail Koger Chocolate!! Yum. They've had so much food at work I'm sure I've gained ten pounds! Still working on Warlord and I'm pretty sure I'll meet that deadline.

Go see Avatar - really good movie!

Merry Christmas!

message 58: by Sandra

Sandra Have a happy Christmas, hope you get lots of chocolate!!

And you're welcome for the support, "you know I love reading your stuff, man".

*<|:-}

message 57: by Gail

Gail Koger Yeah, my favorite, too. She is a multi-millionaire and all she does is write.

My dream. Write full time

message 56: by Sandra

Sandra I'd love the money Nora Roberts must make too!

Really liked the "in death" book of hers I read.

message 55: by Gail

Gail Koger Thanks, I'd love to get a big publisher but it's a tough market out there! I want to get the money Nora Roberts makes!

message 54: by Sandra

Sandra All fingers and toes crossed.

It's been in the 90's to 100's here the last 2 weeks, so we've done a complete swap with the weather by the sounds of it.

message 53: by Gail

Gail Koger Christmas is out this year. That money went to chopping up the branch. But next year will be better.
Actually got cold last night - dropped into the 30's.
Got a couple of blogs one with The Romance Studio and Fang-tastic coming up, hope they will help sell books. Also got a big New York agent looking at Warlord, keep your fingers crossed.

message 52: by Sandra

Sandra Gail, just read the post on the 40 ft branch. Lucky no one was hurt let alone the damage. You just can't take a trick, can you!

Things are just rolling along here as normal except I'm trying to finish Chrissie shopping. Nearly there, phew!

message 51: by Gail

Gail Koger Ooops! Yes, I'm writing as much as I can!

message 50: by Gail

Gail Koger Had a forty foot branch come down in my backyard on Thanksgiving. It landed on my neighbor's fence - thank God no damage but it cost me $180 to get it removed! Ugh! Need to work more overtime now.

How's things with you?

message 49: by Sandra

Sandra Gail,

Congratulations.

You made Top 5 Hot Hooks Pick at Loose-Id. Hope you are writing fast & furiously. What a great Thanksgiving present.

message 48: by Gail

Hope you have a great day, too!
