ML Hamilton has been teaching high school English and journalism in Central California for the last 30 years.

Teaching students to appreciate literature has made her career rewarding; however, she always dreamed of publishing her own novel.

In 2010, the dream came true. Her first novel, Emerald, was published by Wild Wolf Publishing. The sequel to Emerald, The Heirs of Eldon, followed the next year.

In addition to teaching and writing, she has three sons, a daughter-in-law, three dogs, a cat, and a beautiful granddaughter.

Very strongly written television shows can also spark inspiration. Right now, I'm addicted to Sherlock, so that is motivating me to write.

However, the biggest inspiration is my fans, who want the next book in the series. (less)

I'm Going Pro

My youngest son graduates high school in two weeks. Two months later, he leaves for college and I will be an empty nester. What a horrible term! In what way has empty ever meant anything good? I think that we should change the term empty nester to Professional Parent. It sounds so much more positive.

At 48, I realize I’m young to be an empty nester. One of my students told another classmate the oth Read more of this blog post »

Same here. I have read alot of books in my life, and some of the titles I don't remember and some I can't find on goodreads. But to tell you something, there were books that I read, and after finishing reading them, I felt even worse than before... "Never Let Me Go" both the novel and movie were both so depressing that I had to go to sleep to clear my mind. Harry Potter is a cool series for kids and teens who are experiencing some troubles at school, it definitely helped me and made me laugh, it was enjoyable. And I love how the author included symbols from mythology, celtic culture and so many legends.
