Bekah Clark is an avid daydreamer and a romantic who is, more often than not, lost in her own little world. Writing has always been her passion, though it is only recently she's chosen to share her stories with others. She has a mundane day job that she chooses to not define her. By night, she's often typing away, letting her heart live her dreams.

Best known for the Rise of the Hawk series, she is also the author of the Frozen Queen trilogy and the Stone Sisters novels. While the majority of her work is young adult romantic fantasy novels, she's also working on a couple of paranormal romance titles. She enjoys getting feedback for her novels and makes a point of reading every review she gets.

Since they are done and, in my estimate, better books, I wanted to get them out as soon as possible. I loved writing the Frozen Queen, it was done and I wanted to share it. Phaedra is a very sweet girl and part of my joy with the book was watching her grow from someone who is supremely naive. I'm actually working on the Frozen Queen sequel as well which will be called Suspended Heart.(less)

Then, after while, I just start daydreaming about where my character is at. Once that happens, the story usually starts to flow again.(less)

World Building and Belief Systems

I find when I'm writing that one of the most fundamental things I can do with my world building is creating belief systems.  This applies to whether the characters in the story accept that system or not.  It shapes who they are in the world.  And most of all, I like doing it.  I love creating a mythos for the world, something that characters either subscribe to, or reject. What got me thinking abou Read more of this blog post »

message 2: by Bekah

Bekah Clark I read a Court of Thorns and Roses first, which I liked more immediately. I'm still not that far along. I'm trying to get into it. But I always give a book until the end, sometimes a lot of set up is needed, especially for a series. It didn't help that a favorite author of mine, Elizabeth Hunter, dropped a book from a series I love. I dove into the Scarlett Deep and didn't come up for air until it was done. So now I am back at getting into ToG. According to my sister, it's a great book.

Rachel Hi Bekah! Thanks so much for adding :) How's Throne of Glass coming along? I'm planning to read it soon, I've heard great stuff about it. Look forward for your reply. Btw, thanks for complimenting my Willy Wonka gif, gotta love that man :)

Rachel x
