Hi David, Great to go through introduction. I saw that you are/were an IT consultant and you went on to write a novel. What excites me is that I see a connection there. I am also an IT consultant currently and I want to write. I am not sure what but I get this urge to write. My uncertainty always results in me putting this off for future, but, I know future never comes. I want to know about your journey?

I sketch out the plot, and break it down into pieces I can hope to be able to complete in a single writing session. These become the chapters. I then work a chapter at a time, and continue until I've finished.

Whilst turning the plot into narrative is perhaps analogous to implementing algorithms in code, I wouldn't stretch this point. The action within my chapters is driven by the characters, and how I envisage their motivations and personalities interacting. But the lesson I take from software development is that if you actually do the work, over days, and weeks, and months, the book comes into existence. (less)
