J Svogar was born in Sacramento, California, in 1982. She was raised by her mother, moving around the city for her mother's successful child care business. This instilled in her a wanderlust for living in new, exciting places. She spent much of her childhood in San Francisco and at the beach, giving her a sense of wonder and the mystic joy of the city life, which she still enjoys to this day.

She started writing at a very young age, and hasn't stopped since. She began with short stories, but has expanded out to many genres including fantasy, erotica, romance, noir, and horror; she also writes in many formats, such as novellas, full-length novel, essays, and poetry.

She has two published novels to date, a romance novel called "Dialos: Eterna

There aren't any great mysteries in my own life. I know a lot of people say that, that their lives are "like an open book", but in this case it's the truth. While not quite as full and vivid as Middle Earth, it bears some striking resemblances, and it has the added benefit of magic outside of just one race (like the Wizards of Tolkien).

As for what I would do there . . . That all depends on whether or not I was granted the ability to channel the One Power--the focal source used by magic wielders in the world. I would like to be a channeler, but that would depend.

If I was not, I would probably want to be an Aiel Wise One. Their tough exterior hides the wisdom of the ages, and their knowledge and negotiating skills are second to none. No man within their tribe would strike down their word, once it is given, for it is given after counsel with other Wise Ones and leaders, and much contemplation. I want that kind of authority.(less)

Broken Child (Poem)

This is a poem that will be included in my upcoming book of poetry and essays on trauma and mental illness.

==============================

Broken child, you are seen and heard.

I know your pain, your old withered scars and new searing burns.

I feel your tears, hot and angry, on my own face.

Broken child, you are not alone.

Your heart is protected, it is not left out to dry in the sun
