The Man on the Brighton Train

Rate this book
1950s the hunt is on for an opportunistic thief whose risk-taking for personal gain has left a trail of deceit, lies and one death. Detective Chief Inspector Brookland leads a determined team of police investigators, but with no clue who they seek or who his accomplices are, they can do little beyond following the fallout from his schemes, as his actions impact those around him. Worse still, they have little evidence to put before a court, that they might bring justice to the dead. Furthermore, Brookland is under increasing pressure from the top brass to solve the case. Eventually, they put together a risky plan of their own to get at the truth, and it all depends on the nerve of one detective. He has just one hour to act before their murderer evades them, probably forever.
