I have been writing since I was very young. I wrote my first picture book around age 13. I read some wonderful books when I was a kid that inspired me to become a writer. I have a pretty vivid imagination and I love to entertain. Writing was a natural fit for me.
How did you get the idea for your first book?My love for children and children's books inspired me to write BELLYACHE: A Delicious Tale. I also thought about what books I really enjoyed and which ones stuck in my mind from childhood. Oddly enough, all those books featured food and treats. Yes, I have a sweet tooth. I imagined what I would want my children to read about someday and I wanted it to be something I felt comfortable with them reading. I wanted them to be transported into a place that was so fantastic that they would always remember it.
How do you choose which stories to tell?I choose the stories that won’t be quiet. The ones that keep building in my head until I put the words to action.
Do you ever get writer’s block? Not really, I usually don’t have long writing sessions so by the time I get to write, I have things worked out in my head so it is fairly easy to get on paper.
Do you have a “reader” in mind while writing?Yes, I always picture someone or some people I know when I am writing and imagine them reading the book.
What does the word “story” signifies for you?For me a story are words begging to be told, words that need to be shared with others.
Do you think an author should be bound by Genre? No not at all, many authors cross genres. I write for children and young adults, someday I would like to write a book to do with entertaining because I love baking, cake making and designing, and party planning. Those are other things I really enjoy and have been told I am good at so why not share?
Are you currently working on anything?Yes, I am currently working on the release of Bartholomew Buggins: A Zombie with Different Craving which is set for release in late April. My book Novus (The Cresecren Chronicles, Book 1) is undergoing a new cover design. I am also slowly writing the second book in the series.
Do you have a special time or place for writing? Not really, I get my writing time in whenever I can these days. I have a toddler and a 7 year old that keep me busy. I usually write at the kitchen table on my laptop.
How do you promote your work? How will AllAuthor (QuotesRain) help you in your book promotion and sales, would you like to refer this platform to your author friends?Like most authors, I do most of my promoting online, the main places you will find me are Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads. I enjoy AllAuthor, I have nothing negative to say about the author and book promotion site, my experience has been a pleasant one. I like having the confidence that my books are being promoted when I can’t always be online to do so. I would rather spend my precious time writing instead of worrying about being online. AllAuthor helps with that.
