Jean Adrienne Interview Published on: 22, Mar 2021

Tell us a little bit about your childhood and where you grew up.

I grew up in Tallahassee Florida and graduated from Florida State University at age 18. I really had no clue about life at that point and no idea what I wanted to become, so I found a job as a computer programmer and that set the tone for my next 30 plus years.

At what age did you begin writing? Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?

I really didn’t begin seriously writing until I was fifty! Basically a friend dared me, so I started writing my autobiography. It was extremely cathartic, and I had no intention of publishing it until a friend, who is an editor, read it and told be it was good enough to sell. That was the beginning, and now I am six books and two decks of cards into something that has become a passion for me.

What do you love the most about writing?

I tend to completely lose myself when I write. I get engrossed in what I am doing and it becomes dharma!

How did your friends and family react to your first book?

Mostly my family was skeptic of this new way of expressing myself. My friends, on the other hand, have been very enthusiastic and encourage me to write more!

How was the InnerSpeak™ Breakthrough Coaching and Therapy Process developed?

In 2002 I had an enlightenment experience that opened me to channel. All the information in this process was received that way. I had no experience with channeling at that time and wasn’t really sure what the process was no how (or if) it would work. I’m not sure who was more surprised—me, or the first person I tried InnerSpeak with! Now nineteen years later, my work has spread globally, and I have hundreds of people who teach this work around the world, and thousands who use the technique on themselves and others.

Does the type of speaking voice matter in a radio show host?

Probably the best speaking voice for radio is one that is well-modulated and the host needs to speak clearly. The type of voice is less important than the content the host provides, in my opinion.

How much did you research while writing your book, Reframe Your World: Conscious Living In The New Reality?

While there was some research done for this book, it actually was the product of my own experience: healing myself from a “dark night of the soul”. I journaled the experience of moving through profound change in my life to assist others on their path to finding their own truth.

Which chapter did you find most interesting to read in "The Realities of Creation: Moving Beyond the Limitations of Our Beliefs”?

Well, MINE, of course! That said, each of the contributors brought their own truth about the process of manifestation to the book, and they are all distinct and interesting.

What is one of the best ways in which someone can create success in relationships, business, wealth, and health?

Shakespeare said “to thine own self be true’, and creating success must begin with finding one’s truth and aligning with that. When a person is following their truth, it becomes their passion, and that leads to success—ALWAYS!

Did you expect you'd become, Conjunction to become an Amazon International Bestseller? What was your reaction?

I had NO IDEA this book would be successful. It’s my first foray into fiction, and I wrote it as a way to manifest a beloved partner into my own life. I became engrossed in what I thought was a simple exercise, and the next thing I new, I had a book!

What are some advantages and disadvantages of making a living entirely from freelancing?

The biggest advantage is freedom. When i committed to this process I release the bondage of working for another, and it was the best decision I ever made! On the other had, this comes with responsibility—the free-lancer is accountable for their time and profitability!

What have been some of your best experiences while traveling?

I have met SO many amazing people as I have traveled the globe teaching and promoting my works. I love food, and traveling internationally has allowed me to eat my way through the ethnic delights of many countries.

What is the toughest criticism you've ever received? What was the best?

My toughest critics have been family members. They are not on the same spiritual path as I and primarily don’t relate to my work. The best criticism has come from folks in the trade—editors, agents and publicists. They have always had my best interest at heart and their criticism has been constructive and helped me to become a better author.

Which is the next book you are working on? Is it a series or a stand-alone book?

This one is non-fiction, and the working title is Not Normal: Tips For Walking The Path Less Taken. It will be a stand-alone book.
