Stacey Niedentohl Interview Published on: 25, Mar 2022

Where were you born?

I was born in Hagerstown, Md.

What is the one thing you hated the most when growing up?

As far as what I hated most about growing up, I'm not sure if there is really anything I can say that I hated. I can say that it took me a while to feel comfortable around people I did not know. I always felt a bit awkward and odd. So I guess you could say that was somewhat difficult for me but I worked it out.

Were you an avid reader as a child? Do you still read books?

As a child, I wasn't an avid reader. That came along in my mid 20's when I realized I could get lost in books and knowledge. Where new experiences became mine when I opened a book.

Several years ago, while working in a new technology (cellular phones in the 90s) I was having difficulties grasping the new things that seemed to come out daily.I spoke to my manager about the issues I was having and he looked me square in the eyes and said bluntly, "I can't help you if you can't read about it." That opened my eyes to my love and books and information, and yes I still read and get lost in books.

Do you remember the first time you got an idea for a book? What was that idea and how old were you?

The first time I had an idea to write a book I was in school. I had big dreams of becoming a writer for a newspaper or television station. I always said I was going to write a book someday. Back in my day the big thing was to have a pen name. So I was Diane Castle. Diane, being my middle name and I grew up in Greencastle so Diane Castle was born. In school, I was more of a poet and still am to this day. I had several poems published while in high school. Once I was an adult and struggled with minor addictions, I came up with a title to a book "From Cocaine to Christ" . I sat down several times to write it but it had yet to come to fruition. Right now it is a title, but maybe someday it will be a book.

What is something worth knowing that spiritual healers know and others don't?

Something Spiritual Healers know that others may not is that we are all made up of energy. And our energy never leaves this world. Our mind is our biggest asset as well as our worst enemy. We can believe in the dis-ease of the body but our mind can also heal our body for this life or the next to come depending on what we tell ourselves. Once our body leaves this earth our energy remains in the hearts, minds and surroundings of those who knew us.

How did you come up with the idea for your book, My Head Knows?

The idea for the book My Head Knows...But My Heart Still Hurts came from my client's sessions. The title came from a friend, after losing her son. Those were her exact words. I've been a practicing medium for about 7 years and we all mourn the loss of our loved ones. I started to see patterns in my client's responses, I heard similar statements over and over again. I'm afraid I will forget..... The reason I wrote this book was to help those left behind to help remember by writing short stories, events that they want to remember. To create a memoir for future generations to come.

What I also found while writing this book was that it also helped me in my own grieving. I laughed and cried at all the memories that came to mind while writing this book for others, I discovered, I too needed to smile at the memories of my loved ones.

How is your day structured?

Thinking about how my day is structured. I do readings and session M-Thurs from 11 am till 10 pm. So my day is pretty well structured by the readings and energy sessions I have booked as well as the mentoring classes I teach. . Fri-Sun I work in the shop, Hip Gypsy Emporium, that my sister, Lori, and I own with our husbands, Jeff and Tom. When I have free time, it's spent with my kids and grandkids or traveling with my husband.

Your thoughts on conventional vs. self-publishing? What route did you choose and why?

When it comes to publishing, I was directed to use a publisher for another author, and I am glad that I did. This was my first book and there were so many things I did not know. She helped keep me motivated to complete it. We met each week and this kept me accountable. I knew I needed to have something new or completed before we met. I don't like to waste anyone's time.

What is the one genre you feel you can never write? Why?

I feel I am best suited to write from my own experiences. Self help or poetry books call me. My thoughts can be somewhat scrambled and I feel if I tried to write a nonfiction book, it would be confusing for the reading and tourture for me. lol I don't want to say that I will never write a non-fiction book because we never know what the universe has in store for me in the years to come.

What was your first experience as a psychic medium?

I'm not sure if this would be my first experience as a Psychic Medium but it was when I realized I could connect to the universe and spirit. While doing a meditation to open my third eye, suddenly I flashed back to a dream I had as a 6 year old child. I dreamt an eye was chasing me. One of the worst nightmares I have ever had. One that I remembered from childhood to adulthood. As an adult, looking for my spiritual path, it was no longer a nightmare. It was the start of something beautiful. As a child, I was not ready, I wish that I had someone at that time that understood what the dream meant. Even so, I feel that I might not have had the appreciation that I do now.

What's the single best bit of advice you've been given as an entrepreneur?

My best advice for an entrepreneur is to go for it. Visualize what you want to accomplish, set your intention and put action behind it. If you only dream about it, that makes it a goal to someday reach. You won't reach it until you put action behind that dream. If it doesn't work, you tried, you learned and you can make adjustments for your next goal. And when you succeed you'll be glad you tried and didn't give up. Believe in yourself. There are many new journeys that need to be conquered.

What are signs to know that you are born to be a spiritual healer?

Signs you are a healer: We are all healers. We all have gifts. It is part of who we all are. If you have a passion, a calling to help people whether they are friends, family or strangers. You are a healer. Do people come to you for advice all the time? You are a healer. We are all born with gifts, you have free will to acknowledge them or ignore them. There are music prodigies. Those who can sit down at any instrument and make it sing like they've played for years. Gift. Artists who can make beautiful things out of a blank canvas, a stick and paint. Gift. People who look at cogs and gears and make them run. Gift. People who can take ordinary numbers, create formulas that save lives. Gift and healer. So we all have a gift of some sort.

When you are a Spiritual Healer, you may have a knowing that something is about to happen, dreams and premonitions, seeing aura and light around people, seeing or hearing spirit, your hands vibrate when you touch someone, you get chills when something is validated, synchronicities 11:11, 444 etc.

We are all energy created by Spirit, for Spirit and through Spirit. Connecting to that energy and shutting the right brain off allows Spirit to give you the information, tasks and thoughts they have for you. We all have free will and can say no, but for those of us that say yes to the calling it is, for me anyway, the most amazing journey.

What are some things you did to understand and perfect the craft of writing?

To understand my craft of writing: I did a lot of meditating, a lot of praying and asking. Then I would sit down and write. Just whatever came into my head. No worries of grammar or spelling. Just a download of whatever information came to me. When finished I read what I had written and found a lot of snippets of information that led to several chapters.

What are your plans for the future as a writer? Are you working on anything new?

Future writing comes up constantly. I have several ideas. One being a poetry book. The other is basically already written, it just needs some tweaking. I do Tuesday Talks at 10:30 each week live on Connecting To Spirit With Stacey. I write each segment and have done some for about 3 years. The book would be on healing and coming back to yourself.

Who told you about AllAuthor or how did you find out about this website? What made you decide to become a pro-member and how do you feel about this decision so far?

My publisher told me about AllAuthor. This was one of things I would not have known about had I not had a publisher. I'm sure I don't use it to its fullest, but as a new Author it is a great place to connect and learn from others.
