Learn how we scaled this Shopify client from $15K/m Nov 2023 to $148K in organic search revenue for the past 30 days... A year ago, they did $15K in November, had never crossed $20K in organic, and struggled to scale past $200K in monthly revenue. Fast-forward a year, and they have exceeded $1M in total revenue in the last 30 days. SEO has had a transformative effect on the brand's ability to scale. Here is how we did it: 1. Posted 5 new blog posts monthly (with links to product pages and collections). 2. Built new collections to capture long-tail traffic with optimized content and internal links. 3. Optimized product listings for long-tail searches. 4. Monthly SEO workflows: Track new content and re-optimize for new keywords. Use GSC data to maximize the traffic potential of every important page. 5. We implemented our link-building system within their company. We create manual outreach campaigns where we scrape their keywords and reach out to sites ranking for these keywords to land high-quality links. 6. We answered journalist queries about things they are experts at and landed links from high-authority publications. 7. We found high-authority publications and paid for listings or co-authored articles (advertorial). We then built links to these articles that helped them rank, driving a ton of authority and traffic to the brand. 8. Made sure to resolve conflicts when different pages rank for the same term or react to pages that would not rank. 9. Made sure the site was technically solid. 10. We were consistent and did the right things repeatedly until things started to rank. That's it. SEO is simple, but it is important to do the right things and be consistent.

Many DTC brands fail at email marketing before ever sending their first email. Here’s why 👇 Most brands fail because they don’t understand this simple fact: The offer displayed on your popup isn’t just for building your email list. It's for filtering out unqualified prospects. How? Certain offers attract freeloaders, while others attract people with buying intent. Think about it – if your popup offer is a discount for joining your email list, only prospects with buying intent will find value in that offer. That means you’ll fill your email list with subscribers willing to purchase your products under the right circumstances. On the other hand, if your popup offer involves a raffle or a free lead magnet, you’re attracting freebie seekers who don’t necessarily want to purchase. This will have a ripple effect across all your email marketing metrics. Particularly click rates and sales conversion rates. You’re dooming your chances of success before your welcome flow even lands in their inbox. Don’t fall for the dopamine trap of mindlessly accumulating subscribers to your email list in exchange for free stuff. There’s no such thing as a SaaS product or a piece of tech that will magically make sales skyrocket. The technology is only as good as who is executing and how well you’re planning. If you’re not properly planning for a platform migration, you can fail…really fast. 1. Change management 2. Workflows 3. System integrations 4. SEO impact 5. Customer data 6. UX changes 7. Here’s how to make SEO your biggest revenue driver (advice based on generating +$20 million in revenue, not pipeline): ✅ Treat it as a demand capture channel Skip top of the funnel entirely, and jump straight into JTBD middle & bottom of the funnel. There’s gonna be plenty of room later to play the awareness game. The magic of SEO lies in the ability to reach buyers who are already searching for your product. That may be only 5% of your TAM buyers (in-market buyers), but that’s more than enough to grow you to (hundreds of) millions in ARR. Plus, the bar is so low - since most SEOs are chasing vanity metrics (traffic), these low-volume, high-intent long tail money keywords are such an untapped opportunity. ✅ Spend money on content, not backlinks Backlinks don’t generate revenue, content does. You can’t rank for all these keywords where buyers are already searching for your solution until you have a page of content for that query, so building backlinks won’t help. Let’s say there are 10,000 ways (KWs) prospects are searching for you already. This is your lowest hanging fruit you should saturate first. Once you cluster those 10,000 keywords, you’ll have e.g. 2,000 pages of content to create. The faster you publish this content, the faster you’ll capture all the existing demand. So, your goal should be increasing content publishing velocity, because publishing 10 pages a month means it’ll take you 200 months (almost 20 years!) to just saturate existing demand. Publish 200/month, and you’ll do that in under a year. ✅ Natively integrate product into content Google rewards content that provides the most value to the user. That should be your first step - to create the best page of content Google can show to the user. Skip this step and jump straight into promoting your product and you just won’t rank. Once you’ve provided value and solved the user's problem, the next step is to position your product as the natural next step: as a better / cheaper / faster alternative. It’s that simple! ✅ Report on performance weekly It’s hard to hide when you’re transparently reporting on progress every week. It’s gonna push you to do better. Once the campaign hits mid stage (usually 4-6 months in), go from just reporting on leading indicators to reporting on signups & revenue. Conversions should start increasing linearly with traffic. I know that with the old SEO playbook conversions never increase linearly with traffic, but with this playbook, they do. Because, remember, we’re targeting just high-intent, revenue generating opportunities - none of those fluffy TOFU keywords that drive a ton of traffic but little-to-no signups.

AI is killing SEO 😵 Well not exactly, but the way we are searching for things is changing rapidly because of AI, so that means that our SEO tactics have to change as well. ▪️AI is training users to ask questions instead of querying keywords. 🔺Response: create content that answers questions (FAQs). ▪️AI allows for SEO content to be created faster by anyone. 🔺Response: Use the tools to your benefit before you get left behind. ▪️AI is changing the format in which we ask (voice, text, imagine..) 🔺Response: Look for opportunities, where others are scared to go. SEO isn't dying... it's just changing, and like everything related to technology, we need to pay attention.
