About
I am a former teacher and small business owner. After my parents died, I had a stroke and retired. Soon personal memories and family stories tormented my head, until I wrote them down. An alter ego emerged, and my first book was born.
It's an Autobiographical Novel of growing up in a small Illinois town across the river from Saint Louis, Missouri. I recall memories, family folklore, dating the girls, romancing the wife, getting married, then starting our business.
The title of my book "Grandpa's Money" comes from the mystery of a bankrupt pension of a suddenly closed steel plant. Hundreds of hard-working union men were fired and lost their pension, including my grandpa.
Determined to find out how a union pension could somehow just disappear, I followed the money trail from St. Louis to Chicago, Detroit, New York, New Jersey, Phoenix and finally Las Vegas.
I researched personal accounts of workers across the USA, and discovered how others conspired to create, then destroy the American Dream of the Middle Class.
Eventually, my wife and I started a business and got back Grandpa's Money!
