Regina McLemore

I was born in a small town in northeastern Oklahoma close to where my Cherokee ancestors settled after coming over the Trail of Tears in 1839. My love for reading and writing flourished during my childhood and continued throughout my high school years where I was the co-editor of the school newspaper.
After college, where I majored in language arts and journalism, I began a 30-year-plus teaching career. I retired in 2010 and turned my energies to becoming a published author.
So far, my books are all history based and centered around the history and culture of my tribe, the Cherokee. I also write nonfiction articles, as well as fiction stories, for a Western magazine and for other publications.
