The Guardian's Witch (The Stelton Legacy) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 184 ratings

England, 1290
Lord Alex Stelton can't resist a challenge, especially one with a prize like this: protect a castle on the Scottish border for a year, and it's his. Desperate for land of his own, he'll do anything to win the estate—even enter a proxy marriage to Lady Lisbeth Reynolds, the rumored witch who lives there.
Feared and scorned for her second sight, Lisbeth swore she'd never marry, but she is drawn to the handsome, confident Alex. She sees great love with him but fears what he would think of her gift and her visions of a traitor in their midst.
Despite his own vow never to fall in love, Alex can't get the alluring Lisbeth out of his mind and is driven to protect her when attacks begin on the border. But as her visions of danger intensify, Lisbeth knows it is she who must protect him. Realizing they'll secure their future only by facing the threat together, she must choose between keeping her magic a secret and losing the man she loves.

The year is 1290, King Edward awards Lord Alex the seventh son of a seventh son Glen Kirk along with Lady Lisbeth as his bride unbeknownst to her. A deadly conspiracy lurks in the background with far reaching consequences. A story full of intrigue, family ties, strained relationships, romance, mystery and betrayal. I recommend the book, you'll find it hard to stop reading.

This story was great, it kept my attention every minute. I usually read awhile and then stop and go back later or the next day to finish
reading the story. This story was different and very compelling. I give this book 5 Stars.
I Look forward to the rest of the brother's stories.

I really like books that feature visions, healers, seer's but this just didn't come across well. The connections and characters just didn't draw me in. The story was weak and lacking charisma. Not much of a romance and no steam here. I found myself skipping just to get to the end which was more exciting and involved. This was my fist time reading this author and I am not sure I would read anymore of her stories.

Personally, I very much enjoyed my reading and listening experience with this book. It was the first of Ms Casie's books I believe I've read, but it won't be the last by any means. I thought the author did a masterful job of creating intriguing, believable characters. This book would be an easy one for me to recommend to my friends that like romance novels as escape therapy. I must also add that the audiobook was extremely enjoyable as well. Sometimes it's nice to be hands free and have the ability to be listening and multi-tasking. The narrator flowed seamlessly through the voices of the various characters. She held my attention throughout the whole adventure. Ruth Casie is rapidly becoming a new favorite author of mine. I am definitely adding her name to my list.

First time to read a Ruth A. Casie book. I'll enjoyed this book, it read fast, was intriguing and was fun to pick the clues to solve the mysteries in the book. I did pick out the villains but enjoyed how they were exposed. Will read more by Msn Casie.

The Guardian's Witch is a nice relaxing read. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I hate not knowing who the traitor is or paying attention to clues. Ms. Casie did not make me do that which made it easy for me to care for her characters. I was there with Alex why he was imprisoned encouraging him who not to trust. And than there are Lisbeth's visions taking us in the past or the future. It was great to see everything she saw and experience it. I laughed a few times which is always good when reading for enjoyment. Eloisa James fans I'd recommend you reading The Guardian's Witch I think Ms. Casie's style of writing is like hers. A plus for me since I love EJ books.

The pace was exciting and the plot was crafted well. This story picks up where Maxwell's ghost leaves off and is a delightful conclusion for the Shelton sisters. I get the feeling we might be getting more of Alex's family story. I certainly hope so!
