Two Worlds Collided (Rock Star Romance): A time travel rock and roll story of struggle and redemption (Rock Star Paranormal Romances) Kindle Edition

4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 21 ratings

A fangirl nurse. An ill-fated rocker. When she steps back in time to save him, will their affections spell happily ever after? 2007. Evie Reid has dedicated her life to helping others heal. Aspiring to return to school and become a doctor, the full-time caregiver spends her few spare moments as president of a now-defunct rock band’s loyal fan club. But she never imagined her two passions would crash together with a single chance to travel ten years into the past and prevent the troubled lead singer’s shocking suicide. 1997. All Bellamy Lovel feels is cavernous loneliness. Still blaming himself for his father’s death years prior, the frontman masks his pain with the cocky flash and fly aloofness everybody expects. And the last thing he needs is some lame personal assistant to keep him on the clock, especially not the wacko that practically tackled him just for standing too close to a ledge. Thrust into the thankless position of keeping her idol out of trouble and on schedule, Evie struggles to hide her intentions and suppress her growing feelings. And surprised to find a woman who actually keeps it real, Bellamy can’t help making space amidst the darkness in his heart for her warm tenderness. Has tragedy already been written into their love story, or will their passion prevail as an all-time number-one hit? Two Worlds Collided is the standalone first book in the exhilarating Rock Star Romance series. If you like fascinating personalities, touching compassion, and hilarious shenanigans, then you’ll adore Karen Michelle Nutt’s backstage ballad. Buy Two Worlds Collided for a hopeful encore today!

"A Romance that will Rock Your World" ~Otherworldly Reviews~

~Kirkus Review~
"
A woman travels back in time to prevent aself-destructive rock star from committing suicide in Nutt's (Stake andDust, 2015, etc.) romance.

Emerson Violet "Evie" Reid is the president of the fan club forthe band Civilized Heathens--a club that's still going strong 10 yearsafter its lead singer, heartthrob Bellamy Lovel, checked out of drugrehab and killed himself in a hotel room. (In his story, appearance, and persona, Lovel resembles the late singer/lyricist Michael Hutchence ofthe Australian band INXS.) Shortly before Lovel's death, Evie, a nurse, had a chance to become his personal assistant, but she refused theoffer. Now she wonders whether she could have saved him. It turns outthat Evie's friend Kelsey Parish knows a magical spell that could makeanother chance possible, so Evie travels back in time to her originaldecision point. After she agrees to work for Lovel, she has just threeweeks to convince him that life is worth living--but she can't revealwhat she knows about the future. As thrilling as it is to see her idolalive again, Evie's job won't be easy; he's moody, calls her "BookMarm," and makes remarks such as "You must have some nice tits underthat oversized blouse." Evie resists his attempts at seduction, whichonly serves to intrigue him, and as he responds to her care, he beginsto bare his soul. But is she in time to rescue him fromself-destruction? Nutt brings out some very creaky tropes here, including the glamorous, desirable hero whose bad-boy behavior disguises his vulnerabilities; and the girl-next-door type whose nurturance, good listening skills, and patience get through to him when leggysupermodels can't. It's all patent wish-fulfillment fantasy, and theprose style doesn't avoid cliché either, using terms such as "sweeturgency" and "slice of heaven" during passionate moments. That said,Nutt shows skill in making her characters' emotions feel plausible, romantic, and erotic--and they will strike home for readers who relate to the novel's fangirl scenario.

Time travel and late-1990s rock add a twist to a standard good-woman/bad-boy romance."

From the Author

Q.Where did the idea for this book come from?

A.My daughter and I were listening to INXS songs, videos, and the live concerts available. We were sad to think the lead singer had died so tragically and there would never be another song written and performed by him. The fictional story of Bellamy Lovel took root, but I wanted a happier ending for my rock star. So I sent Evie back in time to try and save him.

I bought a time traveler story on sale and received a beautiful, emotional and complex story about love! How cool is that? :-)

I'm not really prepared to write this review as my mind is still in the story. I'll usually work on a review then post it the following day but since I'ld like to start reading another one Karen's books [like now!] I'll post a quick review. (Karen's a new author for me.)

The characters were strong and independent.
Plot was good. The story line did talk about drugs and addiction. There were some hot and steamy sex scenes, but these scenes helped meld Bellamy and Evie's romance. Their relationship certainly wasn't quick and easy - they both had to work at it.

In my opinion the best part of this story was the emotion. The angst I felt wondering if things were going to work out or fold. The tears, the relief, the happiness...

I recall reading the blurb about this author at the end of the novel. Karen words in the very last sentence of that blurb do a way better job of explaining why this was such a good story. It said "all her stories capture the rich array of emotions that accompany the most fabulous human phenomena—falling in love." This story had all of those emotions in spades!

I LOVED this book. I saw it first in Snippet Sunday and couldn't wait to read the whole thing. When it came out I bought it that day, but took my time to devour it. What a great story about redemption for both characters. Evie had to take a chance and move beyond the fears that held her bound. To be honest, she needed to go back in time rather than take the opportunity the first time because she needed the skills to deal with Bellamy. And Bellamy had such pain and depression and loss, he needed Evie to help him see the light. This was a serious subject (beyond the time travel) and Ms. Nutt handles it with grace, humor, and compassion. Read it. You get magic, romance, and connection. I highly recommend this tale.

Wow! I love this book, it was a last minute 1-click and I've never been so grateful to do that.

I love anything time travel but this book was different from the beginning and I loved every minute of reading it!
To be able to have the chance to change time, Evie unknowingly made this choice and made it her mission to help Bellamy. It's such a beautiful, heartbreaking, and heartfelt read.

I fell in love with this book and the characters!

It was such a satisfying read and I definitely recommend anyone to 1-click this.

I just read Two World Collided yesterday and fell in love with Evie. I was shocked when the time travel back in time by ten years actually worked. Bellamy, the rock star with deep depressive tendencies, was quite well developed and interesting. Evie, his nurse and assistant, really had trouble keeping herself on track. I've never been one to hanker after that rock star lifestyle or be a groupie. Bellamy was such a mess with his drinking and drugging and women. I thought Evie did a wonderful job of giving him a reason to live. It's a quick and very interesting read. You will enjoy this well-paced and intriguing novel by Karen Nutt. Give it a try!

What happens when there was a chance to change something but you chose a different path and things went another way? This story gives you a chance to choose the first direction and see where it takes you. Sweet, sexy and heartbreaking, Bellamy. Ever dependable, dedicated and loving, Emerson. Come meet these two people and learn that sometimes fate does give second chances.

Two Worlds Collided was such a satisfying read, I spent all day glued to my Kindle to see how things were going for Evie and Bellamy! My only complaint is I wish it could have been longer! Not Enough Time indeed!

I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review. I was intrigued by the premise of going back ten years to potentially prevent Bellamy, a rock star's suicide. Ten years ago, Evie had not taken a temporary personal assistant job with Bellamy. Now, ten years later, she is going back in time to try to prevent Bellamy's suicide by taking the position .She has three weeks to prevent it. This book was better than I expected. I really enjoyed it and it was a fast read for me. I don't want to spoil it by telling more about the book. I recommend this book and plan to read others by this author.
