    Loved it, I hope the author releases some more soon. The story is very unique and the writing is written in a way that hooked me in within the first few pages. The hot scenes definitely left a lasting impression on me and they fit really well into the overall plot. The characters are really cool and original too, they are unlike any others that I have came across before in this genre, they definitely stand out and they aren't portrayed in a plain or boring style at all. The characters have just the right amount of detail for them to seem like-like but with also a bit of mysteriousness added into the mix. The book is great, I can't wait for the second one

    Aside from the punctuation and spelling errors, I'm still not sure how I feel about this book. The werewolf story was completely different than most shifter stories I've read and at times it was so convoluted, it was hard to follow. I started the second book before leaving this review, so I know you have to read it to be satisfied with the ending of the first book. I'll see how the second goes to know if this review needs to be revised.

    It wasn't that good nor bad, I just can't decide. The plot was interesting and different of what I've read lately but there were some parts that were kind of boring to me so I just skipped them. I really want to know what happens and how Jacob was able to find Allison, that part is not that clear to me. I really hope there's a 2nd book.

    Well, I must say that Alpha Awakened was an unexpected treat! I thought I would have to wait until Payne Hawthorne published the sequel to Adventuresin Payne (which I am waiting for with much anticipation) before I would get to sample more of her unique style.

    AA is not a deep or heavy book yet neither is it fluffy or insubstantial. It has just the right mix of humour, romance and sex (and dayum, can that lady write a steamy session!) all wrapped up in a good storyline. A great novella which ends leaving you wanting the next part right now! I think that it will not be long before part 2 is published as she clearly has the whole story in her head already.

    If you liked the Heroine, Allison, then I strongly suggest you also get Adventuresin Payne by Payne Hawthorne as the leading lady in that story (Payne) has striking similarities to Allison - they could be sisters (if it wasn't for the whole werewolf thang!). That story is far more in depth and complicated (and not about werewolves) but will also leave you wanting more.

    From the beginning, within the first few chapters, this story sucks you in, (apologies if there was any hint of double entendre). The initial scene, set in the aircraft, was very powerful....the imagery created, certainly .....shall we say; uplifted?
    As a male reviewer, I may be in the minority; especially as I am reliably informed we males prefer more visual stimulation. However let us admit that in the modern age of screen led erotica, the imagination is increasingly left behind. This is unfortunate, as the imagination is a more powerfully involving erotic device for us all, but sadly underused.
    Having first to confess this was a significant departure from the genres that I usually read (as well as being a free download at launch), yet nevertheless I am very open minded about any book (n.b. I am old fashioned and my library runs to more than a thousand printed books).
    I was invited to read this "novella": Why? ...Because I was told it had "Scottish" connections!
    I am ever loath to pass up an opportunity to see what license has been taken with my homeland, thus intrigued to see what storyline involving the supernatural and erotica could develop from this.
    Suffice to say that it didn't disappoint, the principal characters were well enough developed to invoke their attachment to the reader, and the plot certainly developed further twists to a well-used mythology despite sticking within accepted guidelines.
    There are some "edgy" controversial moments, but nothing (in all honesty) that is not possible, however much we would like the world to be less dark. And, after all, pushing the boundaries is something that all artists have been doing since time immemorial.
    As one of the first few releases from what I understand is a developing author, it is a very engaging early work, despite some trivial minor continuity errors with a character name.
    I am only disappointed that I have to wait to see where the story goes next. One disadvantage of the Kindle version, you are not aware of how close to the end of the book you are whilst one is engrossed in the storyline....at least with a book, your subconscious is feeling the thickness of the remaining pages.
    I look forward to reading the next chapter.
