Please note: On Sept. 14th, 2015, I managed to infuriate a group of Facebook "trolls" and in return they gang bullied my work by posting 1* ratings and malicious comments/reviews on all of my titles. This happened for the most part on Goodreads, but a few snuck in through the KU program because of the free option. I find this behavior reprehensible because it had nothing to do with my work. They never read a word I wrote. It was purely a personal attack. On Goodreads my reviews have remained low or nonexistent since this attack.     This lengthy book is another in Payne Hawthorne's Paranormal collection. This book, Remnant, takes place over thousands of years with reincarnation and rebirth as major themes. The book starts out, with explanations for the reader about the history of these extrordinary creatures know as Keston's. The book jumps back in forth thru the hundreds of years of history, and at points I was a bit confused but it was all sorted out as this reader got further into the story. King Adriel and Queen Talia, are the first characters discussed in the beginning of the history of these Kestons.

    The lead character is Payne, who in present time, finds herself in a loveless marriage with Matt, with her only joy coming from her horse Brutus and her dog . Money is scarce, Payne has to train other horses to make ends meet and to try to get ahead in her life. She feels likes an old soul, she dreams and it feels to her like these are dreams of her past lives and she feels she is missing out on the greatest love of her life.

    "I used to truly believe my alien family would swoop down and pick me up, and explain I'd been kidnapped as a baby, and brought to this planet, and they'd been looking for me all this time. I also had hopes my dreams of the glowing angel man would come true, that his promise to find and rescue me, were more than my own delusions."

    There were moments of hilarity with Payne and her wee dog and with Brutus who are both able to telepathically communicate with each other. Most Keston characters in this book have this gift and it adds an exciting dimension to the novel and the situations that arise in it.

    We see Collin, in present day, searching for his Queen Talia. He was given Prayer Angel status, to be able to go to earth to find her and protect her.

    IF you are a paranormal book lover and or a lover of animals and everything equestrian, you will adore this emotional yet funny, interesting and entertaining novel. Love, faith and hope play into the themes of Payne's story with Collin and his family.

    I love this quote, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone, my love," Collin told her.

    "She felt cared about and heard, seen and appreciated. She realized she was starting to see beauty again, and it had less to do with the people and the surroundings being incredible and other worldly, and more to do with her own internal machinations and insight."

    I just got back to my Payne Hawthorne books, oh how I have missed her writing. Her imagination and detail is so well written that you can actually see all the characters in your mind. It is easy to fall under the spell and actually believe for a while. In this tale it is captured Angels that have been thrown into life after life hear on earth, until they can be found and healed. The ability to talk to the horses? Wouldn't that be wonderful. Payne's books are very well written and you just flow through the story. I love this series.

    Adventures In Payne : Remnant by Payne Hawthorne

    A little about the Story: This Story is about a woman who as gone through many lives on earth lost from the world she once knew. Payne has no idea who she really is or how many times she has been reborn here on earth but, she has always felt like she didn't belong. Then there is Collin, will he be able to help her remember? Will she finally be a soul lost no longer? I think you should read and find out.

    Cons: The story is a little slow starting but totally worth reading through

    Pros: I enjoyed this story. The way the story plays out and just the plot itself was great. Getting to know Payne (the character) I honestly felt like I could relate. How many of us, felt like we didn't really belong at times or like we were part of a bigger plan? I have, I have felt as though I was destined for more but losing the feeling along the way, through all my trials and tribulations. Stuck in a shell of myself, desperate to find just a small piece of who I once was. That's how I envisioned Payne while reading her story. Of course the Love story within her journey was a great one. To believe love has no end and can overcome life times apart, that is greatness.

    If you are a reader of the Paranormal Romance, This book is one you should read.

    I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
    There are hardly words that could possibly describe how I feel about this book. If you are looking for a book that will hold your attention, get your imagination rolling, set your emotions on a fast paced rollercoaster and leave you waiting for the next part on tenterhooks, then this is the book for you. This is the first in a series, and if Ms. Hawthorne can continue in the same fashion as the first instalment, and I have no doubt she will, we will all be treated to an extraordinary piece of “art”. Her talent to pull from the deepest reserves of her imagination, and spin a tale as she has done here, is simply outstanding.
    The plot has a life of its’ own, jumping a bit everywhere at first, but as you read, you will realize that it had to be that way. Once the story settles into the “modern day” era, it flows together as smooth as soft leather, bringing you on a “magical carpet ride” or at least, what feels like it should be. The characters are numerous, and each have their own quirks and qualities, yet they all have the same common bond…Payne, or as she is also know…Queen Talia. Join Payne and Collin, and the rest of the crew, on a ride you will never forget.
    This is a long book, but worth every page. It ends in a cliffhanger, so be prepared to be left wanting part two sooner than later.

    This story was not only a deeply emotional, touching, sexy love story, but a long, hard look in the mirror for this INFJ! I highly recommend this book, no matter what your MBTI type is.
