Eric (Kingsbrier Quintuplets Book 1) Kindle Edition
“Jody is a masterful storyteller, with beautifully developed characters, incredible landscapes and every now and then she throws in a plot twist that will leave you reeling.” —Goodreads review
Did you hear the rumor about the girl from the wrong side of the tracks who intentionally got pregnant with her wealthy boyfriend’s baby?
It's me. I’m that girl.
Now an entire small town is convinced I intended to sink my claws into whichever of the Kingsbrier Quintuplets would have me, and that I am duping Eric Cavanaugh out of his trust fund.
But what the gossips don’t know is that one slip up happened because I was scared of losing the one thing I’ve counted on since my dad died; Eric’s unconditional love.
The summer after high school, I’m scraping two quarters together to buy diapers and Eric is paying the price with his family.
To make matters worse, my stepfather actually believes the money Eric will eventually receive is the solution to his problems.
Graduating should have meant we were stepping into the future. But will keeping this baby be what breaks us apart?
Told in a round-robin style by all five of the Kingsbrier Quintuplets, Eric is a surprise pregnancy romance book perfect for new adult and college series readers, who adore coming of age love stories and found family romance. Greeting this wild and unruly set of siblings, expect a dash of secret lovers romance with an older brother’s best friend and a peppering of babysitter romance between the boss’s daughter and the newly hired single dad.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2019Interesting family saga. What a unique idea to write about quintuplets. They are all so different yet so close and protective of each other. Eric is the main character of this story. He turns into quite a great man at such a young age. Jenny, his girlfriend/fiancé/wife is a character you just want to hug and comfort. The author did a good job of giving a little bit of insight into each character while still focusing on Eric and Jenny.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2018Well, what an interesting set of characters. The book is titled Eric, who is one of a set of quintuplets, but this book is so much more than just Eric and Ginny's story. The quintuplets are richly written with distinct personalities - as you would expect in a family of five. I particularly liked the way Ms Kaye portrayed Eric's brother, Coulton - a young man with a complex personality who comes across as a bit of a naughty boy initially, but he certainly has a story to tell.
The other character I keep thinking about is Cris, one of the farm workers. I guess I'll have to read Daveigh's story next to see what happens with the two of them.
The pace throughout the book is hectic, but that is how it should be when you are dealing with so many complex characters all living in the same house. And with those young adults being the same age, sometimes sparks fly, especially between the boys. I found the authors portrayal of family life spot on.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2020I have read this book twice now and both times it was excellent. The book is steamy without being trashy. It has romance without being cheesy. Jody Kaye hit just the right balance of what I feel a book should be. The story is easy to follow and easy to lose yourself in.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2018I would say definitely a young adult book. Story about quintuplets who graduate high school and start to spread their wings. This one was Eric's story but all the siblings are present w/ some stories started more than others. Appears to be a great start on a family series.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2020Great story of family, love, devotion! Reminds us that people, whether they are blood relatives or not can be family. No judgement should be made, since you never know the circumstances that others have in their lives! Good read!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2022Eric loved Ginny but when she got pregnant he was mad. Time and watching her, he knew he loved her. She was his. The whole family is close. Things happen and life changes.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read if you like family sagas
The Kingsbrier Quintuplets
This story introduces you to the lives of quintuplets as they graduate from high school
The key focus is Eric. Who is also a twin. And follows how he deals with a surprise that throws him off his original ‘life plan’,
However this book also introduces Eric’s siblings, parents, friends and colleagues.
Despite the number of ‘cast’ introduced, Time is given getting to know each individual, their background, POV and characteristics. Fueling the desire to keep reading.
Thank goodness this series is now complete, so you don’t have to wait to see what happens next

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read.
Although a quicker read than anticipated, this one had me hooked. It pulled me in and I found myself addicted to the story, desperate to see how everything played out. It left me more than ready for book two.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for me couldn't connect with characters
There was a lot of characters in the book it wasn't really about Eric it was about lots of them. When I found myself skimming the book I returned it. I just didn't connect with the story it chopped & changed between so many characters I didn't feel I got to know them . Perhaps suited to a younger age range than myself.
