It's been difficult for me to become engrossed in a story lately, whether in book form/eBook or audio, but "Angel of Fire" held my interest from beginning to end.

Tanya Anne Crosby is a very talented author, "Angel of Fire: A Knight's Tale" has all the elements that makeup a good story; likable H&H, strong secondary characters, villains, romance, intrigue, humor, sadness, etc.. My preference would have been to omit the allusion to Chrestien and Adelaine's mother's ghost, which did not add anything to the story, rather detracted from it, in my opinion...the story was more realistic without reference to the ghost.

Chrestien and Adelaine are 18 year old identical twin girls few had ever seen, because of an over-protective father. The few people allowed to visit Gilbert de Lontain's keep only knew of one daughter; Gilbert never let the girls be seen together to outsiders. Although identical in looks, their personalities were opposites.

I loved the character of Chrestien, the warrior daughter, and laughed out loud as I pictured her, in my mind's eye, as a man dressed in her fathers old mail and helm and the way she dressed her little troop of misfits in what armor could be salvaged from her father’s armory; her father had taken any armor of value along with him, his knights and men of war when he left to fight for the Duke at Tinchebrai.

I admit this book started out a little slow for me. I had to force myself to stick with it. But by around the third to the fourth chapter, it takes a turn and things get interesting.

This book is full of low, anger, jealously, and secrets. Which means it is good.

I loved the bond between the twin sisters and the relationship they had that balanced them out.

I found The Silver Wolfes first encounter with Chrestien de Lontaine to be entertaining. Their relationship is filled with a few bumps but ultimately they find their path.

This story was well written, the characters were complex and likable. The story itself though slow in the beginning becomes a very enjoyable read. The mixture of characters brings it to life and the secrets they reveal leave you wanting more.

Overall a very good read and one I would definitely recommend to friends.

Chrestien de Lontaine, devastated by the death of her father, vows to see her twin sister wed and take refuge in a nunnery. King Henry sends his blue-eyed champion, Wolf, to quell the nation’s rebellion. The twins are both beautiful, but Wolf finds Chestiente’s smoky eyes captivating. She holds his heart in peril, but the real danger lurks in unexpected quarters. We will see if true love can bind two hearts. – I have read so many good books lately that this one did not compare. Medieval romances are not my favorite, so perhaps my judgment is not fair. In any event, I enjoyed the story but was anxious for it to end

I have many book by this author and I think this one will stay with me for awhile. I like this author's writing style, because she pulls you into the story, that you swear you are experiencing everything as it unfolds.

This to me was a very unique story line which I enjoyed and couldn't stop reading. This isn't a make you feel good story, because there is sadness and their journey to HEA is fraught with many suspenseful moments.

There is lovemaking within marriage and mildly described. Because I enjoyed both the H/h when they did come together it was full of passion. The way the author introduces you to both the H/h will also stick with you.

We do get HEA, no cliffhanger, no cheating, a nasty villain, many trials and tribulations too. I didn't read book 1 in the series, and I wasn't lost.

My only problem was the villain at the end. It seemed it happened to fast and what timing?

I am not going into the blurb, as many have described it, but I would recommend this story highly. (ljb)

A bit predictable but still an enjoyable read. It is literally a love story that just happened to be set in medieval times. There is no real history involved. It could have been set in any time period with the same results
