I guess the first thing I should tell you is I write using a pen name and my books are Contemporary Romance.

Through social media, I was lucky enough to follow and friend Romance Author Kate Perry (Kathia Zolfaghari). I also love to read Paranormal Romance which is how I became acquainted with Author Nicky Charles. Their encouragement and advice gave me the push I needed to fine tune my work, send it off to an editor and then share it with you.

As you can see from my photo, I knew what I wanted to do at a very young age. Yup, that's really me. I have a vivid imagination and get pleasure from making up stories and jotting them down. It gives me great satisfaction to know the readers enjoy my books.

Once I have the characters in my head the story seems to write itself. I just follow where the characters lead me. A lover of music, I often use references to song titles in my books to help set the mood of the scene. Be forewarned, I am a huge Bryan Adams fan. I've seen him in concert many times. At one particular concert I called out a song title just as the crowd in the small venue went quiet. He heard my request, spoke to me a bit then told me he would sing me my song. OMG! I was beyond excited. I don't think anything will ever top that experience.

My stories are works of fiction often focusing on real life issues. They're filled with surprises and plot twists and it has been advised by at least one of my readers to keep a box of tissues handy.

The biggest problem I have while writing is I fall in love with my characters and find it hard to end their story. My solution? Write a series. It's fun to integrate my favourite characters in the new stories and follow them as their lives evolve often taking the story line on tangents even I never expected.

I've published two books thus far and both were entered in Readfree.ly's 'The 50 Best Indy Books' contest for the years 2017 and 2018. My first release, Sam's Hideaway, placed 18th in 2017 and in 2018, Mr. Fix-it, finished in 7th place!

I am a proud Canadian and use Canadian spelling in my stories.

At this point in my life I work full time and writing is my favourite hobby. I also love fishing with my husband, reading, or just vegging out in my backyard with my crazy little schnauzer named Angel.

    Where do I begin!?! I loved this book!!! I must warn you though you will need tissues...lots of them lol. This is this author’s first book and she does not disappoint, she put me through so many emotions and made me feel what the characters were experiencing. I really look forward to reading the next book in this series.

    With quite lots of good reviews, I tried this author. The premise looked promising.

    Actually, the way the story told was good. It was flowing and nicely paced. However, there were just too many day to day activities that being told very detail, which bored me.

    Also, this book MUST come with warning of gruesome scenes that might trigger strong reactions. The rape scene was pictured in detail. I'm not sure it actually necessary to do so, but it was what it was. So, BE WARNED!

    Samantha is a sweet, innocent and hardworking young lady. She was bullied throughout her school years and wanted to move away from her hometown as soon as she had the chance. She’s made a home away from home at Ed and Amber’s fishing/ vacation camp. She meets Scott, this jock from school who she secretly admired while the mean girls threw themselves at him. Things start looking bright for Samantha when there’s tragic turn of events which turns her life around. Now filled with fear and resentment towards Scott, she pushes him away. He woos her back helping her to change her perspective on life, when he himself faces his own tragedy. Samantha doesn’t hesitate to save his life, while risking hers. Overall it was a captivating story line. The author really gets the emotions of the characters across to the reader.
    I loved Samantha’s determination and independence and strength, despite her many tribulations throughout the story. My favorite part was the ending. I’m sad that he mother wasn’t more supportive of her but I’m glad her father never second guessed her. I wished the ending would’ve been her dream on the exact date.
    I would definitely recommend this book. It’s a good read for any adult who enjoys a bit of romance with a lot of adventure.

    Once I started reading the book I just couldn't put it down. Sam and Scott had me in tears at time and laughed the next. Rae Edwards is truly a very talented writer. I can't wait to read more of her books.
