April’s Rain (Tucker Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 6,067 ratings

Eight years after losing her closest friend, Tucker struggles to keep her rebellious, self-destructive granddaughter under control. When April accidentally kills her boyfriend while defending herself from his attack, Judge Jack helps Tucker ferry her granddaughter away to Spirit Lake, a remote treatment facility in the mountains of eastern Tennessee. There, April creates a false identity, painting herself as a young socialite, and blocks Tucker’s attempts at communication.

Tucker’s grandson March, missing for eight years, is discovered half-dead, having lost both his sight and his memories. As he recovers, March’s blindness persists but fragments of his life reemerge. When he finds himself at Spirit Lake, he runs headlong into his past.

Will Tucker be able to reunite her family after their paths have splintered?

Revised edition: This edition of April's Rain includes editorial revisions.

The Lord does work in mysterious ways. This family has come full circle. Working on themselves individually and then coming together when each one needs the family back in their lives. I’m ready to delve into the book!

I really loved the first two Tucker books. Tucker was tough and lovable and reminded me of my (1/2 Indian) grandma who would never wear a dress and headed into the woods to find dandelions to make wine. However, this book has too little Tucker and focuses too much on April who I never really grew to like. In the first book I thought Tucker could have been justified in hiding the body of her sexually abusive father after all she was only 16 and had put up with the abuse her whole life-but--hiding the body of a young man who was getting a little carried away and having his family worry and never know what happened to him was not of the same caliber and I lost some respect for Tucker and her values because of this. Yeah so he was sexually overzealous, but April was no saint. And if you kill some one accidentally don't hide the body, admit what happened. The actions displayed here did not seem to be the same- tough but fair Tucker, whom we had grown to know and love. I highly recommend the other three and I was glad to find out what happened to March, In fact I recommend this book for that reason alone. Additionally, I liked the story idea behind the retreat for troubled teens..., my main complaint is that I lost respect for Tucker in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant series

This was the fourth book I have read about tucker and her family and although I don't normally write reviews I felt compelled to make the effort to recommend this to others .The first one was a freebie called tuckers way and I had downloaded it some time before I bothered to start reading it .When I eventually did I was hooked and straight away downloaded all the others in the series, this being the last to date .It had me laughing one minute and crying the next so much that I couldn't see the print for tears .You really have to read the books in sequence to fully understand the whole story and I can assure you after reading the first one you won't be able to wait to read the second ,third and fourth.
The way the author writes transports you right into the book as if you are there and feeling every emotion that the characters are experiencing .The highs and the lows .This and the other books are the best I have read since I got my kindle.

The 3rd novel in the Tucker Series, and a marvellous read. I literally could not put this down - the series is just so good. Simple people caught up in complex situations, with simple solutions, beautifully written by an author who displays his understanding of people and their responses to life situations. I have been trying to make this series 'last' by not reading the next in the series - just so that I can tell myself that I have some good books to look forward to reading. But, hey, bother that .. .. I am going to start reading the 4th book right now .. .. .. an the next, and the next.
