In the fourth installment of the Tucker series David Johnson weaves a story that only his masterly created characters could live. The story starts slow and seemingly too happily, but with the introduction of a character from March's past the story gains speed and excitement, becoming impossible to put down. Johnson refuses to take the easy path and spins a tale with a few unexpected turns and enough complexity to make even far-fetched coincidences seem believable. His best work so far.

Okay, I must say there is some language in this book that is not so nice, there is violence.

There being warned, why did I give this book five stars??

It's the genius in the writing. Without the language and violence there is no way the author could have stayed true to his characters. If everything was all syruppy and sweet it would not be true to life. Life is not perfect and sweet.

It was a perfect blend of excitement, romance, thriller and honesty.

I don't want to see this series end. I hope David will continue this story.

I loved the songs that were quoted in this book. I loved how it wasn't heavy handed on religion, but perfect and right on with the Word, the Bible.

I came from a background, not so nice. I could easily identify with the characters.

David, you pulled this one off good. Yes, I read the negative reviews and almost let them sway me into not getting this book.

Yes, I can see why some may not like this book. But being a struggling Christian, the one lesson I've learned is to never judge others, we don't know the road they walk. Read with an open mind. I rejoice for those who've never faced adversity, or tragedy. You are blessed.

I say if you put this book down and didn't finish it you missed the treasure at the end.

This has been the best series of books I think I have ever read and truly enjoyed to the very end!
As I read each book I hated for it to end but was so excited to start reading the next one.
Tucker sure had a life filled with trouble, anger, responsibility, anguish, love, etc. I cried after reading the conclusion of the 3rd book about March claiming completion of the family unit.
These books will bring you much laughter, sadness and tears. Thanks, David Johnson!

I have rated the first 3 Tucker books with 5 stars. This one was not my favorite. The storyline was good, but way too much detail in some instances. But I am looking forward to book 5.

I enjoyed March On as well as the others in the series. I almost stopped after April's Rain because of some of the reviews but I am so glad that I did not. I wish that March On had given more detail about March activities while he was away. In addition when March was in Rehab he met people that referenced ties to his hometown of Dresden but the connection was never made or followed through on. Willie Carter the PT tech and Naomi the nurse. It would have been nice if we could have found out more about March's father. There is no mention that one of the main character in the book is really March's uncle. The story was actually a continuation of the other stories and it continuation of Tucker's Way & April's Rain. The children are all grown and are beginning to live their own lives and find their own way. Tucker remains an integral part of their lives as does Smiley Carter, August's father. This book as well as the others was a good read. Does it leave you with questions but it does not take away from the story

I have really enjoyed this series. I have just finished the fourth book which I thoroughly enjoyed
All of the books in this series have clean as far as language. Book four has been a little more sexual and graphic which I feel unnecessary.
I am looking forward to reading book five and will give it a review..

I enjoyed seeing light triumph over darkness but the dark portions of this story were almost overwhelming at times. The description of the characters made them come alive.

It was unique when I realized that I had gone to college and sang in a chorus with author. Thank you David for an interesting series. You made the areas of West TN come alive that my grandfather grew up in and of East TN where I have lived for over 40 years. I also had an English class under Dr. Porter King and I am sure he has appreciated your literary efforts.

I very rarely read a book twice... my reading list is too long...
This somehow floated to the first page of my kindle and I had read a few pages before I realised that I had already read it! I felt compelled to keep reading. I totally enjoyed re-reading this book and knowing what was going to happen enabled me to concentrate on and enjoy more the way it had been written. Well done David Johnson.
Look forward to reading the last in the Tucker series.

I really enjoyed this four book series. I felt like I was with this family through all of the tragedies of their lives. David Johnson painted pictures with words and I have only good words to write about his style. I must say that the last book was written like he had a deadline to meet. There were way too many loose ends and it seemed to me that he lost interest in this project. For such fantastic books one to three number four was a real letdown. I rated this book as a five star but not because of his last book but because I really enjoyed the series. I wonder if there will be a book five to tie up all the loose ends........
