Hello, Let me introduce myself. My name is Andrew Pierce, known to everyone as A.P. I’m a corporate attorney on the fast-track to becoming partner at the Law Firm of Goldstein, Parker, & Foster. My tamed hair is blonde, and my eyes are blue. I stand above six feet with pure muscle covering my entire body. I exude confidence, strength, aggressiveness, power and most of all, control. Shit, if I’m to be honest here… I am the epitome of fucking control.

Most people strive to have control, but they don’t know the first thing about it. They use it as a means to harm, destroy or dominate. For me, control is like breathing. It’s my lifeline. I must have control. I must be in control. It’s not about my sick twisted need to dominate that’s ingrained in me no matter what. No, control for me is simple, it’s a matter of life or death.

I’ve worked all of my life to master the art of control and believe me, it wasn’t easy. I have been tested, measured, and judged, but I never allow myself to succumb to the loss of control. So imagine my damn surprise, my panic, when for the first time in forever my control falters. Shit, it happened so fast that I couldn’t stop it. My breathing became erratic, and my heart beat raced so fast that I wasn’t sure if I would be able to… control it.

I thought this was it, and I looked around my surroundings, frantically looking for the source of my lapse, waiting to destroy the threat, when my eyes fell on…heaven. This beautiful, stunning, magnificent woman before me stole my breath away. She was the reason why my control faltered. This was dangerous for a man like me, losing control like this. I knew what I must do; however, I still couldn’t move. It was that moment when I realized that for the first time in my life, I was fucked.

It's somewhat vengeful and deliciously sizzling hot, with more enlightened and caring moments at the same time.It has good progression and it's well developed with captivating characters.     This book is a page turner. The story began in a series "7 Degrees of Alpha". In that compilation, you are introduced to A P aka known as Andrew Pierce. Andrew travels to a hole in the wall Diner not for the coffee or the food but for Nyla. Nyla is a waitress with a few secrets. In Book 2, we see Andrew has secrets of his own. In addition to his secrets, someone wants Nyla. Not only do they want her and her child, but their motive is to silence her forever.
    Andrew's obsession with Nyla has changed his life forever. He has become obsessed with having her as his. His desires for her are surrounded in his love for her and her daughter. He is doing all he knows to do to keep her from several entities that desire to keep them from solidifying their relationship.
    Andrew is an Alpha of the first order. However, Nyla is an Alpha has well. Andrew's brother Cedric is police detective and finds out that a few of his cases my have implications in the mysterious past that surrounds Nyla's past.
    Nyla has a friend (Darrius)who does all he knows to do to poison Nyla against Andrew. Could Darrius want her for himself of is he working with and for someone else?
    I loved the story of how Andrew finally comes to the realization that Nyla is his true soulmate.Their love story is intense and gut wrenching. Being a romantic, this had all the intensity I crave in a story. Thank you Ms. Lessly for another great read. Looking forward to reading Book 3....

    This book was really good but I can only give it 2.5 stars bc it is a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers, especially from this author, none of her expected books come out when they are scheduled. I waited for this book after reading the short story in the Alpha collection. When this book finally came out I immediately ordered it. Hell, I pre-ordered the book. I should have done more research before I made my purchase. Had I known this was a cliffhanger I never would have read this book. I am so tired of all these dag gone cliffhangers. I am really about to STOP supporting many authors bc of this need to make their book cliffhangers. It feels like an attempt to get my money. I spend about $60+, monthly purchasing books. This stuff is making me upset. I like supporting good authors but when they do this, I no longer want to support them. I hope this book is released when scheduled.

It kind of threw me off a bit because it was written in third person and I'm used to her writing in the first person but I could still follow the story. Andrew is ...........beyond Alpha he has anger issues and control issues he is Alpha multiplied. At first Nyla was confusing because I knew she liked him but she kept throwing him off but once her past was explained her behavior made more sense. There were some things that were confusing to me such as who and what was Darius as well as why Rinic was so secretive and if Andrew was Alpha and the strongest and beat any and every challenger why he always had to have someone around him. Who was Theresa and why were here and Cedric separated? I guess I'll have the answers to these questions in January....Hopefully.
