Gabe Kincaid (The Kincaids Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 340 ratings

A beautiful woman in disguise running for her life; a man who hates deception and lies; and the event that almost destroys them.

Katie Worthington has lived with her beloved grandfather since her parents’ death. When he is killed by men she had thought were close friends and realizes she is their next target, she takes off and joins the circus. Hiding as Dorothy Duncan, a circus kitchen worker, offers her a chance to get out of town without being seen. By the time the circus reaches Kincaid Springs, Katie has dyed her auburn hair black and become Maharani Shimza, the new fortune teller. Things go wrong when she is attacked in the fortune teller’s tent, and she lands in protective custody at Judge Kincaid’s home.

Gabe Kincaid came to Kincaid Springs to work in his great-uncle’s law office and get away from those who had deceived him. He’s certain the fortune teller is spinning one yarn after another. When first the body of a local man is found behind the circus tent and then the previous fortune teller is killed, he realizes Katie is telling at least part of the truth. But, why do questions about her past terrorize her more than threats at the circus?

Can Gabe determine the circus killer before he strikes again? Will Katie be safe at the Judge’s home? Will her past catch up to her? Can love blossom between Katie and Gabe or is too much stacked against them?

I loved Gabe Kincaid (The Kincaids Book 4). Caroline Clemmons has written a wonderful story about Gabe and Katie and I enjoyed reading it so much. I highly recommend The Kincaids series. Now I’m going to read the next book, Monk’s Bride. So sad it’s the last one in the series.

I loved this book. I am a fan of the of all the Kincaid books and this did not let me down. Katie Worthington comes from a good family and is used to a life of plenty. She returns home from spending time with her best friend to discover her grandfather dead and the murders still in her home.

When she is locked in her room to await her own murder, she does what any red blooded heroine would do. She escapes out the window and joins a traveling circus. I adored this part! She poses as Dorothy Duncan and starts out doing odd jobs. The cards are in her favor and she soon finds she has the opportunity to be a fortune teller. For this role, she assumes the name Majarani Shimza, Mystic of the East. She immerses herself in this role, she evens covers her beautiful hair with a black dye to better look the part, and is good at. It is good she covered her tracks so well because she has been framed for her grandfather’s murder.

Then the unthinkable happens and she fears that her past is closing in on her. This is when she meets Gabe Kincaid. Gabe is strong, upright, and of course, he is gorgeous. But most important, he is with the Law.
Will Gabe discover what she is hiding? Would he believe her if she told him all or would he follow the letter of the law?
If you are a fan of the Kincaid Stories this edition will not disappoint. Many of my beloved characters from past stories were in this story as well. I personally love stories with strong family ties and highly recommend Gabe Kincaid

I really loved this story too. I thought after each book I had read them before, I was right however I just had to keep reading all four stories again! They were just as exciting as the first time.

I must have gotten them on nook before because when I purchased them from Amazon they didn't say I'd already bought them before.

I think that Lialah and Bill should fall in love, of course it must be just as exciting as the others. Please Caroline, I would love it and update all those from the first four books. Just a thought.

Thanks so much for keeping me entertained!

The story line was great, but seemed rushed. Where the first two books weren't.
Not as much thought went into the last two books as the first two. I hate when I am charged full price for half a book.
I see where the story of this family could and should keep going. Mary and Rafe should...Well I won't say.
Storms and Renas story doesn't seem quite finished, nor does Gabe and Katie.
A lot more could have been told and off course the news sheriff's a must!

Get ready for a fast pace adventure. If you read the other books in this series you already love the characters. You will not want to put it down.

Her life changed for the better the day she met Gabe Kincaid. She was a young woman in trouble from her past but with Gabe to love and the whole Kincaid family to back her up her troubles were going to be a thing of the past. Gabe wasted no time in falling in love with Katie, but he knew her by a different name at first but I guess being a lawyer he knew she was not being truthful. This has been a very good series and could continue with more stories with Rafe and his sister who is yet to be married and Bill who will probably be the new sheriff.
