About the author

Through a crazy twist of fate, Caroline Clemmons was not born on a Texas ranch. To make up for this tragic error, she writes about handsome cowboys, feisty ranch women, and scheming villains from a small office her family calls her pink cave. She and her Hero live in North Central Texas cowboy country where they ride herd on their rescued cats and dogs. The books she creates there have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards.

Ok, I love this writer! Caroline Clemmons has me so engaged with the series I honestly went straight from book 1, to 2, to now 3. They were all great. This one had me laughing aloud in parts. Bad boy, Josh McClintock gets himself trapped into a shotgun wedding because he climbed into the window of the wrong house while drunker than a skunk and harmed the reputation of Nettie Clayton. Neither bride, nor groom, was happy about this forced union. While Nettie had a crush on Josh, this was not how she wanted to win him. Plus, he ruined her plans to be a teacher and help her brother go to medical school. Watching these two work it out and find love was great fun. This book had danger, humor, and sincerely touching moments. Loved it. Can’t wait for book 4 now. I recommend this series.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2015This book is Josh and Nettie's story. I was given a arc for a honest review. I have to say I did buy the book because I loved it .Nettie is a feisty young woman who got trapped into marriage because Josh was going to see the town strumpet and get his birthday present after his party but he climbed in the wrong window and passed out across Netties legs ,being such a sound sleeper she wakes thinking she had a stroke because she can't move her legs only to find Josh there across her legs just as her DAD knocks on her bedroom door and so she kicks him under the bed to hide him before going to the door her dad walks in demanding to know what his horse is doing outside , she doesn't know of course and her dad then sees Josh's boots sticking out from under the bed oh me how does she explain that one .I am saying no more but the book is full of giggles and fear .if you don't get it your missing a great read.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2022This is the third book in this series. It is filled with excitement, adventure and humor. John is drunk as a skunk and climbs into Nettie’s window in the middle of the night by mistake and then passes out. Found the next morning by her father there is a shotgun marriage by nightfall. You will fall in love with this couple as they work through their problems and discover they really love each other. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2016Very good. Josh & Nettie. Circumstances force an unhappy Josh to marry Nettie. They have a rough beginning, but she learns about ranching, shooting a gun, and horseback riding. She also wins the love of her new family. This is a great romance with just enough excitement to keep it interesting.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2015I could not put this book down! It was fascinating from beginning to end. About the time you thought everything was under control, another incident would take place. Caroline is a master storyteller and this book did not disappoint. The tension between Josh and Nettie was enough to hold your interest. Throw in the villain and his cohorts and you were on pins and needles, holding your breath, waiting to find out what comes next. If I could, I would rate this book a 10.

4.0 out of 5 stars An engaging story with well fleshed out characters - well worth reading. A strong 4,5 stars for me.
McClintock’s Reluctant Bride is the third book in the McClintock Series by Caroline Clemmons. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and then, when it went live, I bought it simply because I loved it so much (the same thing happened when I was given an ARC for the 2nd book in the series – O’Neill’s Texas Bride).
Ms. Clemmons writes engaging stories with wonderful characters well fleshed out and a great attention to historical details (which is always a plus for me). This time, we follow Finn’s brother and Stella’s sister – Josh and Nettie – in their adventures. Through a set of circumstances, they end up having to get married, which doesn’t appeal to either of them. With time and some more adventures, they realize they’re made for one another. That’s all I’m going to say about the plot. For more details, you’ll need to read the book. It’s a very good story.
This is a very strong 4,5 stars for me. Well worth reading.
