Lydia Harrison, a wealthy widow is bringing a group of marriage minded young ladies to Tarnation Texas, to live in her house and be taught the social graces to be courted my good marriage minded men, believes her and brings her to Texas. It was love at first sight for Zane Davis when they met. It was for her also, but she fears that if she told him she had been in prison, he might not want her, so she delays telling him until they get to know each other better. Zane runs a freight company and makes a lot of dangerous trips tp Fort Worth. There is always the danger of being attacked by bad guys and a group of them have recently escaped from prison and might attack his shipment. Zane hires Rachel to be his book keeper and their love deepens. What will happen when she tells him? will he still want to marry her? Will he and his guards survive an attack by the bad guys? Will she ever be vindicated for the crime she went to prison for? Will they have the happy ever after, they both want so much?

    I have read all the Bride Brigade books and can't wait for book 7 but there were a lot of misspelled words but in the books after Josephine where she hits the robber with the skillet when telling about the it you wrote that Mrs Horowitz did it. Who ever did your proof reading did not do as well on these books as they did with your other books. Even with the mistakes I still enjoyed every one of the stories and your other books as well. Please continue with this series soon...pleeeeeeeeeeeeease

    This book is about Rachel and Zane. Rachel was falsely accused of embezzlement and sent to prison for 3 years. When she got out her brother was there to get her. When she returned home her parents told her she had 1 week to get out of the house cause she was an embarrassment to the family. She had sister's who were mean to her. There were two women in town looking for women to take back to Tarnation to be come brides. That is how Rachel met Zane. Good story.
