O’Neill’s Texas Bride (The McClintocks Book 2)
This second book in the series was so different and yet, held its own. The mystery within the story had me guessing. Finn was a loveable hero with a dream. Stella was a woman with convictions with an absolute dislike of dating miners. He was working as one, only to find the underlying cause of who was causing accidents, in exchange for the ranch he so desperately wants. She had no idea and tried hard not to fall for him. I liked them both and enjoyed seeing how they figured it all out to find their happiness. I could feel the grime and danger of the mines. All the characters in this story were engaging. It was a great ride! Can’t wait to read the next. Love this writer!

I love a good series. Finn is a good hero and Stella really is a star.
I wish we could have had Grandpa ripping at that mine owner. Seems to me to be a loose end.

This is a story of the mining hardship and the romance that came out of it.

Finn wanted to be at his new ranch, but had a job to do first. He had to find out who was causing all the trouble at the mines.

Stella was a school teacher who couldn't stop thinking about the new man working with her father in the mines.

The events are full of excitement, wonder and a growing romance.

Another great story by Caroline Clemmons, that kept me turning the pages.

This newest book in the McClintocks series is charming. The hero, Finn is a delightful Irish rogue. Ms. Clemmons knows her Texas history and paints a wonderful picture of the people and places. Although Texas isn't known for coal mining, it was a piece of history I had been unaware of. I enjoyed the relationship of the Clayton family. Finn never gives up on his dream of a ranch and fights to convince Stella he truly loves her. She weaves a good mystery in with the romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

This author has the knack of putting you right into the story. At one point I thought I was going to have a claustrophobia attack while they were descending into the mines, swaying on a platform in the dark. Lol I am loving this series and look forward to book #3 I loved the hero and heroine and all the supporting characters. A fairly clean but fun read. JudyE

5.0 out of 5 stars I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review and I loved it so much that I've just one-clicked it.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review and I loved it so much that I've just one-clicked it.

O'Neill's Texas Bride is the second book in The McClintock Series. I've found it's a very enjoyable story, well-written and with characters that are engaging ' even the villains.

Welcome to the world of Farland Coal Mine and the daily life of the miners and their families and follow Finn O'Neill's undercover operation to discover what's ' or rather who's ' behind a series of disasters that are anything but coincidences. Meet young Stella Clayton, the schoolteacher with who our undercover agent will fall in love with.

However this is not a conventional love story. Yes, romance plays an important role in the book, but what I've really appreciated is that a lot is devoted to the mystery surrounding all those so-called accidents and the details of the day-to-day life in the mines. So, meet all the other protagonists ' whether they are the main characters or the secondary ones ' and as Finn pursues his investigation, try to figure out who is the culprit. Love, mystery, plot twists... What more could you want?

I believe Caroline Clemmons has put a lot of research in that book and the end result is absolutely great. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
