About the author

Through a crazy twist of fate, Caroline Clemmons was not born on a Texas ranch. To make up for this tragic error, she writes about handsome cowboys, feisty ranch women, and scheming villains from a small office her family calls her pink cave. She and her Hero live in North Central Texas cowboy country where they ride herd on their rescued cats and dogs. The books she creates there have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2011This was my first book of Caroline Clemmons, and I'm going to be reading more. Caroline has a gift for creating her scene settings, whether it be the outdoors or inside a house. She brings you into the scene, and makes you feel like you're there. Plus, she's created an unusual hero-a bereaved cowboy who has a broken leg and is in a cast. Yet he still manages to save the heroine. Will's wife died three years ago, and he mourns her still. He's just come to the point of being ready to find love again. (This is also a refreshing change in a romance, that a hero can have dearly loved a deceased wife. The heroine doesn't have to be better. She can be a different love.)
Caroline also adds the hint of danger with brings a tense element to the tender romance (there's a nice, slow courtship). The romantic suspense element bring about a satisfactory conclusion to the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2012This was the first book I read by Caroline Clemmons and I enjoyed it immensely. I felt a real connection with the little town and all the characters in it. Will is a great hero, he has his flaws but even those are lovable qualities in him. Aurora was fantastic as well...she was courageous and independent without being bitchy and was able to love without giving up her dream for herself and I really loved that about her.
I must explain why with all my raving about how great the story and the characters are, why I only gave it 4 stars. That is because I felt if there was ever a story that deserved an epilogue this was it. All the major plot points were wrapped up but there were a few small things left hanging like what did Aurora's parents say to Will on the phone that first time?!? Also I would have really liked that last little sneak peek at their happy ending...although I think its a credit to Ms. Clemmons writing that I was so drawn in that I wanted an epilogue that much!
If you enjoy well written, heart warming romances then you'll be hard pressed to find better than Be My Guest.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2013A bit predictable: The independent woman searching for her future place; the brooding widower; the adorable daughter; a heartwarming cast of supporting characters with their unique contributions to the plot. While the characters were less developed than in some books I've read, the research was spot on - nowhere did a find a distracting out-of-place detail - and the story is rich with detail. The author brings it all together to deliver a delightful escape as love catches both the hero and the heroine by surprise as they learn more each day just how many of the same things they treasure. There is a conflict built in near the end that is a bit contrived and stiff (his reluctance to have a working wife) but that doesn't detract from the overall experience. Definitely recommend it as a summer read.
