About the author

Through a crazy twist of fate, Caroline Clemmons was not born on a Texas ranch. To make up for this tragic error, she writes about handsome cowboys, feisty ranch women, and scheming villains from a small office her family calls her pink cave. She and her Hero live in North Central Texas cowboy country where they ride herd on their rescued cats and dogs. The books she creates there have made her an Amazon bestselling author and won several awards.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2013Is it possible to go back home again to the security of familiar people and places? Link Dixon is trying to find a haven for his young son and himself. He is drawn back home to Cartersville, Texas with fond memories as the hometown sports hero and his family. Inheriting his grandparent's home is the answer to his problems as a single dad.
Leaving the Dallas Police Department after ten years is a big step. The low level job of deputy sheriff is a new start, but Spencer County has changed. The area is now a major drug distribution center for gangs. Link is recruited by the federal authorities to investigate this dangerous activity to find the killer of a DEA agent and the local party girl. Warned that the local law enforcement establishment can't be trusted, Link is on his own.
Who to trust? Coy, the local mentally challenged man? Vince Bartolli, the new lawyer in town? Anna Zimmerman, a friend of Link's sister?

- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2011Caroline Clemmons is highly regarded in the Romance genre, both Contemporary and Historical, but that doesn't define or limit her. She's handles Mystery and Suspense with the same ease and skill. In ALMOST HOME, she draws you into the life of Link Dixon, a widower who will sacrifice anything to give his young son the right upbringing. Link gives up the big city career as a Dallas cop and returns to the small Texas town where he grew up. While busy rebuilding an old house and old relationships, he is still a cop, and can't ignore threats to the safety of his family and his hometown. The author's deft hand for developing characters you'd fight for makes this a story you don't want to miss.
