Death In The Garden: A Heather Cameron Mystery (Heather Cameron Mysteries Book 1) Kindle Edition
Garden center manager Heather Cameron must solve the Death In The Garden to prove her old family friend, mentor, and employee, Walter Sims, is innocent of murdering the meanest man in town. Heather can’t trust the police to find the real killer when all clues point to poor Walter. The dead man was beaten to death with Walter’s shovel several hours after they were overheard arguing, and the two men had a long history of enmity. Walter definitely looks guilty, but Heather is sure—well, almost positive—okay, she certainly hopes her friend and mentor is innocent.
Heather is compelled to scour the fictional North Central Texas town of Gamble Grove to exonerate her old friend. She’s encouraged when the new police detective in town, Kurt Steele, shows interest in helping her look for clues.
The deeper Heather digs into the dead man’s life, the more she justifies his ruthless reputation. Walter is indicted, but police begin to suspect the victim’s stepson as murderer. Heather is convinced the stepson couldn’t have murdered anyone either—although it’s clear no love was lost between the two men. The attempted murder of the victim’s real son creates a new twist. Can Heather solve the murder without becoming the killer’s next victim?

- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 20166.5 stars. I don't enjoy western romances very much,(the author's forte) but I really love romantic mysteries. It's been almost a year since this book was published and I don't see any announcements about book 2 of the series. What's the delay??
Yes. It's that good! I've read it twice now, something I RARELY do. It was just as interesting and I couldn't wait to turn the page... nor was I worried about staying up way past a reasonable time for a full time employee.
If you haven't read it, you should.
Come on. Where's the next one???
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2018This kept my attention from the beginning of the book. Couldn't wait to find out who did it. Now I wait for the next book to come out.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2019Best book I’ve read in a long time loved the characters and am hoping there are more to come in this series
- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2016both of the mystery were great. I really enjoyed reading them
- Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2016This was a subtle Romance that slowly developed until the end of the book. The murder mystery was cleverly woven through out the story and finally resolved at the end.
