Shadows from the Past Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 66 ratings

How much are our lives affected by our ancestors?

When successful romance author, Fury O'Quinn, began digging into family archives to solve an eighty-year old mystery, she never anticipated finding the brilliant, handsome, and unpredictable billionaire, Gray MacGregor, the great-grandson and heir of the heinous man Fury seeks to expose. When Fury experiences a covert attraction to MacGregor, he confuses the feisty, independent, Irish writer with his audacious and unpredictable behavior.

As she diligently probes for the truth behind what happened in 1925 that sent her great-uncle to an insane asylum and her grandmother to Ireland for life, Fury is astounded to learn the shocking ways in which the interaction between her ancestors and MacGregor’s ancestors could impact their modern lives.

Set in and around Atlanta, Georgia, and laced with uncertainty, Shadows from the Past takes the reader through a tangled web of historical events and injustices.

An enjoyable read that twist and turns until the final pattern is clear. The characters are true to themselves yet open to reason given by others.
A great book to read to take one away from the "everyday."

Judith Erwin has become my absolute favorite author with her amazing ability to pull you into her books with a grip so strong you just can’t wait to turn the next page. Shadows from the Past is a must read! I promise you won’t be disappointed. The combination of romance and mystery are perfectly blended. I love the characters she creates in her books and how quickly you form a bond with them and feel the chemistry between them. I love the level of detail that Judith writes about each of her characters where you actually feel like you know them and more importantly how quickly you like them. She doesn’t clutter her books with useless characters, but rather every character has a specific purpose.
My only regret about Shadows from the Past was that I didn’t read it sooner. This was the third of Judith’s books that I read, and I can’t wait for the next one. She is an amazingly talented writer and sure to become one of yours too once you pick up one of her books and get lost in the story. It truly is a must read.
