- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2016When I read my first Lady Justice Novel, Lady Justice and the Candidate, which would be a great novel to read during this presidential election, don't you think, I was having fun with the non-traditional pictures I found of Lady Justice. Maybe that's part of why I was so interested in continuing this series. But this book, Lady Justice and the Conspiracy, is the first I've had a chance to read since then.
But I love that the lead and many of the other characters who, as senior citizens, still are active and concerned about what happens around them. So I thoroughly enjoyed this latest book and highly recommend it to those looking for books about the reality of today's world and reading about it within a mystery setting and with a good dose of comedy!
Jack Carson, crime reporter for the Kansas City Star, was used to getting calls about a possible story, some were cranks which he quickly eliminated. This time, he had listened enough to think that his contact, known only as Falcon, may be giving him a real story that could, if true, be big--maybe even Pulitzer Prize material.
It was an expose' on what the government was doing. Specifically, that they were planting what, in essence, was poisons into the sky! Which, obviously if true, would eventually come back down to the surface...
Jack had put the Falcon on the spot...In order to proceed, he'd need a sample of what was being blasted into the atmosphere...
When Falcon didn't show up to meet, Jack figured that was the end--the informant had made up the story...
Except by the next morning, Jack saw an incident report, went to the morgue, and verified that Falcon was dead. And he'd been an AF pilot as he'd earlier shared...
It was Jack Carson who had gone to Walt to see if they could learn more. Walt was an ex-cop and his partner, who still worked, had been the officer who caught the AF pilot's accident. Jack was positive that it was not an accident. Ox confirmed that Walt had been right about how the wreck occurred, but that there was no proof that it had not happened as vehicle failure... the case had been closed.
Walt thanked Ox and then asked for the address of the victim...He wasn't satisfied... He became even more agitated when he shared with his partner, his brother-in-law, and learned that Kevin had already considered the problem of chemtrails...and was quite willing to accept that the pilot had become a whistleblower, was discovered, and had to be eliminated!
Well, Walt was on the trail and wasn't going to give up...Soon he learned about the "weather manipulation" issue...
But, the number of bodies climbed the more Walt asked the right questions to the right people...
Could Lady Justice work any magic in this conspiracy?! The problem readers face is the same one we all experience daily with political ads. One group praises one candidate and another group spreads dirt about the same person. No wonder the public has no way to get to the truth?! How can Lady Justice?!
But what Walt faces is much more than he's willing to... In fact he was planning to leave town and visit Branson... I sure wish he could have made that trip!
But Walt wasn't able to leave... Danger lurked...
Thornhill keeps readers moving quickly in the investigation of the conspiracy and his character, Walt Williams, is a joy to meet through the book. The ending caught me off guard and was certainly a surprise that most readers will find as intriguing as I did! Don't miss this series! And this one just might capture your interest to keep reading Robert Thornhill! Enjoy.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2017We were having a discussion on Facebook about chemtrails and someone suggested this book. I believe them to be real and this book supports all the research currently being done. I know...conspiracy theory but honestly people, look up like Thornhill suggests in the book. Easy read. I haven't read any other of his books (although I will now) but the characters seem to come alive without a laborious process of explaining who they are. The story moves along in spite of the technical stuff. I enjoyed reading this book but now am more scared than ever.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2019Lady Justice and the Conspiracy is my twenty-first enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns & one-liners, as always dealing with current social topics. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Since I own both the Audible & Kindle versions I was able to follow along while being read to. Up next is Lady Justice and the Conspiracy Trial. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2019I am not sure about the conspiracy theory hinted at in this book. It is masterly written into the book, that is true. But the websites cannot convince me. Then again, I had a Pinterest account and had some stories about people, especially children, who were killed or harmed by the multiple vaccines received at, imo, way too young an age. When I was a kid, we had one early in childhood, and about 6 or so, when we were in first grade and later. Now American children get 72 !!! before age 18. Think about it. And then one teenager stands up and blames his mom for not having him have all these nice shots....
I know though, first hand, that pesticides are sprayed from planes, I have seen them do it. I also know from people hereabouts that it is quite common practice. Imagine you trying to grow some organic veggies and then a farmer next to you sprays his fields from a plane !
Surely the government rather has big pharma on its side, than millions of poor people like you and me. What do they care about us ?
- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2016Another enjoyable book in the Lady Justice series that hooked me from the beginning. The lovable and comical characters, friends and tenants of Walt Williams, do their part as usual in helping Walt solve crimes and catch the perp.
This book took on a more serious subject of chem trails, residuals from jets flying over different areas. Walt is given evidence of a coverup by a reporter but when he tries to obtain the evidence to prove his case it suddenly disappears along with the eyewitnesses.
When his wife's life is in jeopardy he must make a decision to pull away and let the police handle this case. But will it ever be solved? Will someone believe the possibility of a government coverup?
I look forward to reading more books in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2015I have started the series and believe I will read them all. They are well written and they are cute books. I am a cosy mystery junkie and am happy I found Robert.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2015I have been a fan of the Lady Justice Series from the beginning and I hope that there will be many more to come, no pressure. The book is filled with colorful characters, usually a subject matter that is close to the Authors heart, plenty of action and lots of humor. I love his motley crew of friends, and only wished that they made a longer appearance in this book, but in times of trouble you can always count on them. Robert Thornhill book's are never boring and always a joy to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another 5 Stars!
This was another great Lady Justice read...although this storyline was little differant than the others I've read in that it left me thinking..."What if?" I just Love these characters with all their great humor. This author just never disappoints.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'll definitely read on more book of this series in the future
I came across this book when it was for free on a Kindle promotion, and I'm happy to be the first one to review it on Amazon UK.
I honestly had no idea that this book was just the last of a long series (I read somewhere more than twenty books, if I'm not mistaken) so obviously I wasn't aware of the main character's background - Private Investigator Walt Williams.
Anyway, being hooked by the genre comedy/thriller, I right away started reading it.
the prose is linear and clear, I did enjoy the author's style and the story itself.
And I can tell that I'll definitely read on more in the future.
ps.After long pondering on my rating, I decided that the book deserves the all five stars although I really didn't like the pictures that from time to time where put in the middle of the narration - guess to help the reader to have a more clear idea of the book's scenario. But yet, this is my personal opinion, and I do believe that the book can easily do without, if not better.
Nothing personal, just not my taste. Still, as I stated before, I think deserves the max rating anyway. Well done!
